Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

Thanks Geoff, its weird He has a very slow eating phase, he seems to hardley eat if ever at all, but no sunken belly, and he is energetic when he needs to be. He must be eating something. The other night, I caught him under the Lunar Lights sucking on the glass. I dropped with a long self made ...

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

oh ok, understood How the heck can you tell all that just from seeing the mouth Also, what is the difference btw L142 and LDA33, I actually never understood the deviation naming scheme of going L to LDA As an update, he has gotten less shy now, comes out a bit more during daytime, but he is still a ...

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

Hi all, sorry for the long wait in an update but work has been so busy. Some good news, after about 3 or 4 days I saw more eating, even algae wafers now, and the shyness is slowly going away, but just as someone else wrote on top, th elil guy likes to have the ability to retreat and loves to hide ...

Heater Suggestion

Hi, I would like to inquire from everyone their advice regarding a good suggestion for a good heater for my 16 gallon tank. I want something with a numbered temperature gauge, not just low-medium-high settings. I heard a bad review for an Aqueon Pro (50watt) from a friend which I was considering ...

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

That almost looks like LDA33...very hard to tell, but the mouth looks a little big for a hypan. Well, LDA33 is listed as liking algae wafers, this one doesn't, and yes wow looks a lot like it but I hope you are wrong, the size difference is of worry for my small 20g, I wanted a Pleco that didn't ...

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

Yes, he is young, I would eyeball him at about an inch and a half, not sure how many weeks or months that would relatively be, but I agree, and i see no darkened fins, guess I will try when he is bigger and post a new pic in the identify my pleco area

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I just got home and threw in a few shrimp pellets by the cave entrance (despite it being bright daytime and tank lights at full blast), and I guess the little guy was hungry, I actually saw some activity and watched for a while, and although it was a bit tough to ...

Re: My L102 Snowball not eating

Thanks for the reply Mats, I will give it a go, I already purchased the meat/shrimp based pellets today and will try tonight, and I will try evening time when lights are out. I am now unsure if it is L102 or l201 but I am leaning towards L201 as I do not think I saw a black colored tip anywhere ...

My L102 Snowball not eating

I purchased him (1" maybe 1 1/4" long) on 10/13/2011 for my 20Long tank and I have a huge caved piece of driftwood that he immediately took a liking to. All my surrounding fish are very small peacful community fish (some neon tetra's, fancy tail guppy's, zebra daneio, and two killi's). He even at ...

Well... some bad news, the female died, and I think perhaps due to some complications. She was trying to lay eggs all day and night for 3 days. I squeezed her a little after she died and a ton of green eggs came out, I barely had to squeeze actually. I hope some of these hatch. Also, I noticed they ...

Khuli Loach - hundres of eggs

OK here goes... my Khuli loach, looked like she was having a seizure whilst upside down when I found her in my tank today... I thought she was dying As I observed, I noticed a huge spurt of tiny white balls come out near where the rear end is, and I knew right wawy it was eggs. She has been laying ...

I plan to get the large bags they got at my LFS, I will quadrouple them and add a few drops of Ammo Lock as suggested. I plan to ship overnigth and I know how to package well. I wanted to inquire about enough oxygen, because that was my main concern. I remember during the blackout, all the LFS had ...

how should I ship a fish

Hi all, avid reader and fan of this site but I know I do not post much

Just wanted to know what the best way to ship a fish (overnight) is. It is a 2" pleco and I would like to send him soon. Will those bags from the LFS suffice, they say not to keep fish in for longer than 2hrs?

Thx to all!!

I do not know how well this applies to Pleco's, as my experience doesn't come close to some of the avid members here, and I oftenfind myself asking questions than giving answers, but I know generally when fish suffer damage like this, aquarium salt is always encourageable. But wait to see others ...

measuring plecos

Hey all, I was browing the cat-e log and always see people giving measurements of their pleco's - SO... I was wondering What is the typical measuring standard if there is one to measure a pleco? Is it from the inside body not counting the tail to the tip of the mouth or is it from the tip of the ...

It doesn't have one. Thats so sad, certainly it deserves one  I guess what I meant is, of all the catalogued L# Pleco's listed, which are largest. I glanced through some and found the Gibby and the Scarlet to have potential to get very large. Any others I overlooked? I know some here are very ...

is there a formula to figure out how many gallons a tank is. I was given a tank recently of an irregular shape, I can measure it but what do I multiply the last figure by? Sounds like ick to me. If it is you need to treat with medicine 3x. Raising water temperature to ~82deg would be good, I pushed as far as 84 but NO higher. Dunno about the shrimp idea but it sounds original, I personally think it will have no effect one way or the other. Also, use good medication ...

I realize you don't want somethign huge and ruled out a Gibbi, but you say you have an Oscar, how large is the Oscar, you need to have a fish at least half the size of the Oscar or else the Oscar will damage it. A Gibbi is great for growing large and eating Algea, but since you don't want one, I can ...
