coconut shell

Post by Chouin »

Hi,
Just have a small question, is coconut shell a good food for panaque and pleco?
Because in the ID section, I just saw a pleco eating some of it.
Thank you

Hi !

Take all the fruit out then boil it before putting it in the tank!

I just cleaned my thoroughly and left it in the hot open sun upside down, then cleaned it again, just a good scrub down, no problems yet an dits been like 3 or 4 months now. Boiling is a good extra pre-caution step though.
