Klaus, I can be sure as I have collected both spp. in the wild. C. nudirostre is found in just a handful of quebradas (streams) in Carabobo State, Venezuela. Since there is no commercial collection of tropical fishes in this area, there is no chance of C. nudirostre just showing up at a local pet ...

Re: Most active pl*co? / Best personality pl*co?

Re: How to feed my Leopard Cactus pl*co
I've recently purchased a leopard cactus pl*co and I'm wondering how I should actually feed it. The site here talks about prawns, mussels, etc. Thats fine, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen him move from his hiding place. Thanks, Paul That's the way they always behave, when they've come into an ...

Spreading hybrids?
Hi, some guys over here in germany seem to be proud, that they have hybrids from Hemiloricaria sp. RED and Hemiloricaria lanceolata and they keep on selling these cats! Although it is not quite clear, what the relationship between these to species is - I think one must not do this (spreading ...

It mostly depend on the size of the aquarium - I have two pl*cos in one 180 liter aquarium, and there´s no problem - but I think, that it´s a boy and a girl. . however I would never keep two Panaques in the same tank. . Well - I can't agree! I keep 5 Panaque nigrolineatus, 1 Panaque cochliodon and ...

If there ever was one fish taylormade for the speciestank; it's Chaca spp Their adult length hovers about 8" or so, but their sheer lack of activity makes them suitable, even for small tanks. Big and weird enough to look impressive, lazy, docile and social enough to keep a few in a small tank. One ...

Re: They said this was a rubberlip but sure doesn't look lik
I would guess it's a bristlenose but the pink skin on its lips and nose confuses me. Anyone know what this is? I think it is an Ancistrus sp. which I have as well. http://www.welse.net/seiten/ancistsp.htm It has that pink skin on its lips and the restcolor changes from the color on your picture to ...

What kind of snails? I have a lot of "Malayan sand snails" (directly translated from norwegian; don't know the english name), but I think they eat eggs. Yesterday, my pair of Farlowella spawned in my comunity tank. I've had them for about one year now, and after conditioning and lots ov water changes the last months, they finaly spawned. Hi! It only appears to be that light in the lower head region. With a little imagination you can see the beginning of a triangular spot between the eyes that is very reddish, also at the base of the tail. I also have another one that was supposed to be a female for him but its turning out to be a ...
