Uncertain still about growth rate as I have not seen remarkable growth, I also have not seen the profuse pectoral and cheek hair growth thats on most of the pics on the ...

Re: Ancistrus Menopause?
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the info MatsP. They are the only ones in the tank. The temperature as not changed, 26-27 deg celcius. I will just have to be patient. Will cave size be a factor? I havent changed the cave in the last 2 years and even when I offered the male a bigger cave he ...

Ancistrus Menopause?
Hi I have an established breeding pair of white spot ancistrus that have been giving me regular spawns every month or two, for the last 2-3 years. I would approximate their age to be 5 yrs+. They usually spawn with little or no effort on my part. But now even with ultra conditioning and rigid water ...

Re: 'galaxy ancistrus?'
Hi Silurus and MatsP
Thanks for the quick reply. After looking at various pics of a punctatus I do believe thats what I have.
It is amazing how you guys can put an id to fish with such limited information and poor pics.
Thanks again for a great website and quality unselfish information.

sexing panaque maccus

Re: Farlowella and Whiptail in same tank
Hi Mats Thanks for the info and advice. I was assured by the supplier that it was acestra acus. As I lack both species to compare them, as well as the 'eye' or experience to differentiate, I am in the dark. I will post a picture as soon as I get a decent camera so that you guys can lend a hand with ...

Farlowella and Whiptail in same tank
Hi I have a breeding pair of farlowella acus and another breeding pair of whiptail parva. I want to keep them together in a 120l tank with hopefully enough hiding places. Will this lead to the males having territorial disputes, especially during breeding? If they do spawn, will one species feed on ...
