I have the same problem. I bought what I thought was a Male and a female, and am now worried I have 2 males as my 'female' now has taken up residence in a cave and my male prefers to make caves under slate and bits of wood! Pictures of my 'pair' can be seen here http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum ...

I would also watch out for the L66 many may dissagree but I have observed my female eating plants, dispite being well fed on a meaty diet and also cucumber or other veg availible. I have an L200 in the same tank which i think my l66 may have learned the skill required for plant eating from!

Looks like a female to me. The underside is also not got any markings which some people suggest indicates a female. There is an artical that talks about this here http://www.planetcatfish.com/shanesworl ... icle_id=98

Mine eat anything including cucumber.

Thanks for the reply. Both fish appear to be well and are feeding well. I have noticed one has changed colour since introducing it. Both were identical when I introduced them however the larger of the 2 appears to be darkening in colour. I will keep you updated if this colour change continues! Ian

Breeding L200

Hi I have just purchased 2 L200 both are between 12 and 15 cm. I hope I have picked a pair and have an interest in breeding them. I see from searching in the forums that they were successfully breeding in Berlin zoo. I wondered if any other forum members had experiences of breeding these lovely fish ...

I had problems getting mine to eat. I still have never seen one of them eat since I put it in, but since it's belly is full and it has been in the tank for 2 and a half months it must be eating something. Mine appear to like bloodworms and other meaty foods. I feed in the same are every night just ...

L66 Diet

I have a group of 4 L66(I think) and hope to establish a breeding group. They are currently small at 2 inches and are in a species tank with no one competing for food. Having recently aquired them they do not appear to be feeding well, although their belly looks full and round. I wondered if anyone ...

Well I am new around here. I have noticed that no one has asked the size of the fish. They look very like my small L66 which are 1.5 to 2 inch long. Just another thought.
