They are mature from around 8 cm and males get huge odontodes on the cheek and pectoral fins that the female lacks almost completely.

I have some doubts to identify correctly these friend's fishes. He capture them at the river "La vieja", in Cauca basin, Colombia.

The fish of the third pic it's very similar to this Ancistrus, I buy it as Ancistrus sp. "Maranhao" and probably came from Brasil.

The Ancistrus in the first pic, I´ve seen them beside to this. The fish of my pic weighs around 10cm ...

Cordylancistrus or Dolchiancistrus is a possible good ID. Comparing with the pics of C.torbesensis at Cat-elog, the shape is very very similar and the interopercular odontes a bit bigger. Also, according to J. Armbruster, have 9 soft rays in dorsal fin, and this shows a Dolchiancistrus .
