Ancistrus ID

Post by Jorge »

Any idea of what species it is?

Is a female (I guess), and her colour is brown slightly greenish. When it was younger the colour was darker and showed a white band in the caudal tip.

I don't know where it is from (was bought in a LFS in Madrid, I suspect is imported from the Cezch Republic). She measures 8 cm more or less, and is about two years old:

I agree. Any chance of finding out where these are shipping from? It is not a sp. I have ever seen before.

Hi Jorge.

Maybe help this. A month before, find many fishes looks like very similar than Jorge's fish, but juvenile, like this.

These fishes mixed to Ancistrus triradiatus from the Cezch Republic.

I'd suspect ANY fish, and especially any catfish, from the Czech republic to be hybrids.

It's very possible, and in this case also.

Regards. :)
