Oh my goodness. That is amazing. Those are gorgeous cories and your pics are incredible. Congrats on all the babies. They are lovely. Looks like you're going to be overrun with fry at this rate.

Have your C. weitzmani hatched yet? Got any pics of those??

 That is terrible. I am really sorry to hear about that. I read that the USA was having terrible weather at the moment, in areas that normally don't get such cold winters.

Hope you are able to replace them all. Bet it will take ages though! How long did you collect them all for??

Again, very ...

If you look carefully at the females, can you see the eggs in the lower half of their bellies? They'll look yellow and you can actually see them through their skin. My oto's started spawning WHEN the pandas spawned. They only lay their eggs on the underneath of the leaf. You will also only find ...

My new Plecos

I ordered some fish off Trimar and they arrived Friday. I've given them a chance to settle and here are some pics of them. Although the L204 swims around a lot and is out most of the time, taking a pic of this little guy isn't easy. He/she doesn't like my camera, so the pic isn't too good of him/her ...

Looking for info in L134 and L204

I am soon to be moving my L260's to another tank, hopefully to breed. They are currently in our 4ft community tank, which is a very peaceful tank.

I have found some L134's and L204's at various LFS's and was wondering what their behaviour is like. I have researched their feeding and tanks needs ...

I found that as long as the tank was well established with algae, they should be fine. I have many things in my tank that are covered in algae (live plants, bog wood and the tank itself). But I do add food for them, such as blanched courgette, cucumber and dandelion leaves (which they absolutely ...

I have 3, 2 males and a female. When you got them to breed, who instigated the spawning?? I will be setting up a breeding tank for mine soon, as the female is really plump and both males look fully matured.

What do you feed the fry ...

We only have one cave in the tank at the moment, which SHE sits in all day. If the male comes to that side of the tank, she comes out as if she's hoping he'll go in. He does go into the cave, sometimes, but if she comes back,he's off. They did at one point, use to swim around together ...

I was just a bit worried, since they aren't like the rest of our fish (like the cories who are out all the time). She was out all of last night, till hubby decided to give the tank a clean. But she's been out since to eat and flare her dorsal for who ever wants to see it. They are my ...

Active L260

When I got back from fetching the kids from school today, I saw our female Arabesque was out and about. She is still swimming around being "very" friendly, 5 hours later.

That plec seriously looks like a L260. I have two of them and they look just like that one. The lines are thinner than those of the L318.

As far as I know Hypansistrus do not eat wood. If I am right and this is a L260, try feeding him/her frozen shrimps (mine adore them and go mad when I put them ...

I have 2 L260's and feed them defrosted blood worm, shrimp, cucumber, courgette, potato, shrimp pellets, Sera Catfish Chips (which they love) and Tetra Prima.

I have been lucky enough to actually witness them eat. In fact, when I put the food in the tank, they normally come out together, chasing ...

I really want this to be a female, because I do want to set them up for breeding eventually.

Thanks Amanda

Our otos normally start in the morning, right when I decide to feed the fish. They are a bit difficult to get to, having to remove the entire leaf, normally pretty low leaves. Once our pandas realize they are spawning, they follow them around eating the eggs. The otos eat some too, as ...

Breeding Otocinclus - Warning, plenty pics...

Hi all

We didn't intentionally start to breed them. Our panda cories started one weekend and the following weekend the otos started. We didn't feed them anything special. We noticed two females were really swollen and then they just started.

1. Goes without saying, never put otos in a new tank ...

Wow, I've just realized which type you have. When I originally bought my 5, one of those was in the bag. No one noticed till I looked at the pic I took of them in the bag. Mine is definately a female, and a bit bigger than the other otos. They are gorgeous.

Sorry Mike, I forgot to add that my panda cories had started spawning 10 days before.

I've looked at all the pics, but they all seem so similar. It's quite hard to make an accurate id.

Hope you don't mind me posting a pic, maybe you could help me id them.

I'm not too sure what type mine are, but I have bred and raised oto fry before. I have them in our community tank with sterbai and panda cories as well as some tetras, angels, red whiptails and L260's. Once I found them spawning, I removed the leaf with ...
