Re: l134 leapard frogs
You could just keep both tanks as species only tanks then the water parameters would be better for both the Frogs and the Bristlenose, a temperature of (25) is to cold for L134's in my opinion, I'm sure they would probably survive but I doubt they would be happy. If you did split the Bristlenose and ...

Re: l134 leapard frogs
Hi mate I think you should put him in your 4ft tank just for the extra room if I had to choose one. I think my main concern would be keeping the bristlenose with either of these fish though as both require a more of a protein diet rather then a mainly vegetable diet required by the bristlenose also ...

Re: pleco tank filtration?
I agree re the Eheim canisters filters there great, I have two 2217's on my 180 liter tank which have never let me down over the years, I have snapped a couple of the ceramic shafts but that was down to me being heavy handed when removing the impeller to clean it. I have often looked at the newer ...

I keep sturisoma_aff_festivum with mine, and have had countless spawns
With them in situ, and they don't mind it hot.
The longest I've heard H Zebra live in captivity between 15-20 years !

Once they start fitting into the Oscar's mouth, they are all considered meals. would Hypancistrus zebra or Hypancistrus debilittera or any carnivorous pleco eat small guppies and leave the adults alone ? Careful, some small Carnivorous Catfish are predatory, although not a pleco, I Know someone who ...

Try, (BD Trading, aquarium sand) it's quality, cheap and dose not alter PH, I wouldn't use anything else, don't think they have Black sand though.
It's available, Ebay, shops, everywhere.

Zebra second spawn, lots of eggs!
My female has just left the males cave again leaving eggs, the first spawn was on the 26/10/13 , with only three eggs found, this time I found 10 plus :d , has anyone else come across this, with bigger clutches second time round, I'm guessing this is normal, I'm surprised how quick after the first ...

Re: Baby Zebra leaving cave, first pic
Mine all go crazy for de-shelled peas (not boiled) though, I don't see the point in boiling away all the goodness [-X I just put some into a cup leave them for an hour or so de-shell and then done, they don't go crazy for Blood worm/ Brine shrimp/ earthworm pellets etc like they do for peas, strange ...

Re: Baby Zebra leaving cave, first pic
Your right, I do overfeed at times, due to my work patten etc, all my Zebras are well feed , but not bloated, and they don't just get high protein foods, they get de-shelled peas etc, I would say they look healthy

Re: L46 (Indo Bred) found at LFS
Some good advice there Hitch, re R/O I should have pointed out the reason I use R/O is that the tap water were I live
fluctuates quite a bit, so I use a mix of R/O & tap water to get the desired TDS so the fish receive a stable PH/hardness.

Re: L46 (Indo Bred) found at LFS
Hi fella Zebras are great, most people keep them in species only tanks as they don't compete for food well, there like wolfs, they live packs, they require good quality, you need high turn over and big filtration, and they like it hot and because of this you want air stones/ diffusers in situ because ...

That the first time the eggs are usually infertile anyway, so two's not bad.

Cheers TwoTankAmin
I did the water change and no problems, I did see the male pushing the female back into the
cave so there was a bit of movement but both still in the cave, so now it's just wait and see,
Cheers for the advice !
