Baby Zebra leaving cave, first pic

Post by Matt30 »

Hi just thought I would share a pic of one of my two baby zebras out of the Cave, I first noticed him out and about on the 23/11/13, the found eggs on 26/10/13 this one doesn't
Stay with dad in the cave anymore, he's happy on his pease of slate which is also home to a largish male, they seem to get along fine though.

Your right, I do overfeed at times, due to my work patten etc, all my Zebras are well feed , but not bloated, and they don't just get high protein foods, they get de-shelled peas etc, I would say they look healthy :-p

yeah i have been thinking about how to vary the diet of my L260 as well, not just meat-based pellets and frozen foods. they show a little interest in zucchini, but maybe peas will do. i usually feed sweet peas to my BN plecs in the same tank.

Mine all go crazy for de-shelled peas (not boiled) though, I don't see the point in boiling away all the goodness [-X
I just put some into a cup leave them for an hour or so de-shell and then done, they don't go crazy for Blood worm/ Brine shrimp/ earthworm pellets etc like they do for peas, strange !
They do also eat Zucchini to, but I just lost one of the baby's to a seed ! Must have chocked to death on it, gutted.
