My first zebra spawn !
I found two of my H zebra in one cave on the 24/10/13, on the 26th to female left the cave, I thought they were just having a practice run, after a couple of days I noticed that the male, which is the smallest in the group including the females, would not leave his cave nor let me see what was in the cave, so I left him to it, I was just happy I had a confirmed male and female, on the 28/11/13 I noticed eggs ! We'll two, and this is what I found yesterday
The egg sacks have almost been absorbed now.
I have been conditioning them for a couple of month prier so they were all quite big , then did a big 70% water change (cool)
And dropped the TDS down from 135-80 and a week and five days later it happened.
I have seen two wringers so far and they are growing pretty quickly, dad is doing a great jobThe egg sacks have almost been absorbed now.

Cheers mate, it's there first ever spawn, so next time there should be more, I heard that
That the first time the eggs are usually infertile anyway, so two's not bad.

Re: My first zebra spawn !
Cheers everyone
I'm doing a water change tomorrow so I try and get some more pictures, they are all still in the cave, dad is a very protective father and won't let any of them venture out of the cave yet, they only have a tiny bit of egg sack remaining, so I think dad will let them out in the next week or so ?
I thought I saw a third Zebra in the cave today, it's really hard trying to see as dad keeps them under wraps and I don't want to keep shining a torch into the cave stressing dad out for no reason,
When they do come out they should be ok, they only other fish I have is x2 Whiptails and they have lots of hiding places in situ, I'm just going to feed them the same as the adults, Peas, Earthworm sticks, Brine shrimp, and Primer, the only thing I'm not feeding any more is mini Bloodworm, due to all the horror story's ! Has anyone ground Bloodworm up into a paste and tried feeding? Seems a shame to cut this food out of there diet as they enjoy it so much .

The other two are still in the cave with dad.
Just got back from work and found one of my baby zebras dead, when I looked at his belly he looks like he's chocked on a courgette seed ! I have a couple of Whiptails in the tank, hence a few seeds floating about, has any else come across this ?
