L70, Zombie pleco

Had these for about 3 weeks now. Just put them in my breeding set up. They've been in quarantine for 2 weeks.
Since yesterday they already started to show spawning activity Still a bit under weight but doing ok, lot's of good feed and water changes will get them into shape.

Here's a video of today. They've been at it for 2 days now

I'm glad that more and more pleco keepers start keeping L070. I also want to buy but a group of it. I'm wating when it is avaliable in sale from breeder.

It took me quite a long time to make them look better. They hatched during my 3 weeks holiday, so they didn´t get any food in the beginnig and the father didn´t let them out of the cave. When I came back I saw them like pictured in the photo. The following youngsters looked much better.

@Mats: Same with mine, but even if they don´t show up they grow quite fast.

I am going to make some new pictures of mine as well.

Ok, that explains why they look like that. If it was me, I wouldn't have send in those pictures but waited until they looked healthy and well fed.

I don´t have any more pics. That time I didn´t even had a good camera, so taking pictures wasn´t so much fun. The L 70 from Mats and Yann are offspring of mine.

Well, that first spawn got eaten by dad.
I transfered the fish to a bigger tank seeing they were already old enough to spawn.
They are a little bit more aggressive now than before. Females claim there bit of hiding space quite fears! Males are all in caves.

Since last night the male has another batch of eggs. So let's see what this time brings
I have separated him with his cave from the group this time.

I've learned something new this morning.
I've spawned many hypancistrus (L46, L66, L174, L199, L201, L260, L270, L316, L340, L400) but never ever did hatching take longer than 4 days.
My Zombie male had his 3 spawn (first 2 failed) and it felt like it took for ever. Even started to think the eggs were infertile because they looked a bit white (like L46 can do). The male was still fanning so I didn't do anything yet.
This morning I went to feed the fish and got a nice surprise I saw my first wigglers of the L70 This is absolutely my first experience of eggs hatching at 6 days old instead of 4. Notting has changed, temperature and waters were constant and exactly the same as always.

Has any one had the same experience with these fish? What does this mean? Could L70 be different from all other Hypancistrus? Just curious.

I will take some pictures when I'm back from work this afternoon!

If you repeat the experiment enough times, account for interfering factors and still get the same results, then yes, they are different!

I think all (or almost all) of my hypancistrus (L174, L201, L340 ...) eggs hatches approximately at 5-6th day, not earlier.

Well, that depends on your keeping.
The colder the water for instance, the longer it takes for the eggs to mature for hatching. If your water would be around 28-29 degrees, that could mean that your incubation time is longer by one or 2 days.

The temperature here is a constant 30 degrees. All of my other fish (Hypancistrus and Sturisoma) have an incubation time of max 4 days. It has been so for 4-5 years without any change.

But with this species it is different. As I said, it took 6 days for the eggs to hatch.

Made a quick video when I came home. Sorry, didn't clean the hatchery first...will do so now! I was to exited

1 Day old. Yolk sack is already reducing! There are 9 fry outside the cave and loads more in the cave with the male
