tank height limit

So I have a 120 gallon (US) aquarium, it measures 4'l x 2'w x 2'h. I was wondering if its too high to keep corys? I know they like to swim up to the surface and get some air once in awhile, is 2 feet too high for them? Currently it's empty and I'm looking to house some more corys, I hope I can use ...

snail eaters

Just curious. Are corys known to be snail eaters? I have four C. gossei in a 20 gallon aquarium, they're all alone in there. I always seem to be vaccuming up empty snail shells when I do my weekly water changes. Does anyone know if they eat snails?

Re: B. splendens Juvie Pic

That's the first time I've seen what the juvenile B. splendens looks like, very stunning. Great pic Frank. I've seen other pics of yours of equal quality. Do you have a gallery that displays all your cory pics? I'd like to have a look.

Re: Lone Pandy Cory Fry

How big are your barbs? I think your panda baby will be fine. 55 gallon is a big enough tank. Do you have it planted and with some decorations? Maybe you can feed the fish on one side of the tank and release the panda on the other side, that way he can go right in and find a place to hide without ...

Filter gunk, I've got a lot of that! Cool, thanks for the tips guys! I'm feeling pretty confident that these little cories are going to make it!

Re: Feeding newly hatch fry while on vacation

Hi Ian, thanks for the reply. I don't have any mature sponge filters running. Do you think if I add one to a tank now, I'll have enough time to "grow" some of those organisms? It seems like a good reason to always have a sponge filter running.

Thanks again Ian,

Feeding newly hatch fry while on vacation

Hello,

This morning I woke and found some eggs scattered in my metae tank, I harvested 25 good eggs and disposed of some infertile ones.

My problem is this. In a week, my family and I will be going to Japan, we'll only be gone a week, but what can I do with my baby cats?

This came to me as I ...

Coryman's spawning log

Hi Coryman, sorry to keep bugging you with questions. Reading through the past forums I came across another one of your posts. The post I'm referring to has a link you supplied to a spawning log of yours. I tried the link and it was dead. Do you have a new site with those pics? I'd like to see the ...

a question for Coryman

Hi Ian, tonight I was looking through all the past posts, (I guess I got to page 30 something and I came across a post by you) it was about black or dark colored sterbais you had raised to about breeding age. I was just curious about that project. Have you been succesful breeding them? I've some a ...

Thanks again Larry!

Last night, I looked carefully at the eggs and thought I saw some movement inside, a little wriggling! I'm excited! Also, amazed at how fast these little guys develop!

Thanks for the reply. I'm excited about this and find myself checking up on the eggs a few times a day.

I read to feed the fry live baby brine shrimp after their yolk sac is used up. Do you think frozen baby brine shrimp will work?

Thanks again,

Cory metae eggs

My Cory metae just spawned. (This is my first time spawning corys.) I removed the eggs and have them with an airstone in their own "bowl". I read the above link about spawning and it says fertilized eggs will be tan in color. My eggs are a tan in color, but I can't see anything inside. Is this how ...

My favorite cory has to be the Adolfoi Cory. I find their colors to be striking, the dark black and the contrasting bright peachy/orange coloring.

I've been researching the weitzmani and I think it's a cory i'd like to own, it could become one of my favorites.
