Your Brochis splendens photo is excellent.
I thank you much.
My congratulations on your successful spawns.
Possibly the single most unique looking Cory specie, that I have spawned, anywayz.
They are particularly attractive as juveniles.
First time I saw one in a mixed fry tank, I had no idea what it was. lol.
I have to get a better camera for fish photos. If you don't mind my asking, what camera and lens combination do you usually use?
I use a Canon 1Ds with a 50 mm Canon macro lens and 2 off-camera flashes. Only one was firing for these shots, though.
I have been considering a Nikon D40 but it may not be a good choice for macrophotography and the next models in the Nikon line might have to wait until I sell enough fish to buy one of those. Nikon D80 with a Tamron Telephoto is the higher priced set I am considering.
I think you'll find that the choice of equipment is secondary to the amount of time you need to practice shooting. I have on more than one occasion shot 500 or more images to get one that I considered acceptable. Luckily, electrons are free. lol.
If I can assist you in any way with pertinent info before you make your purchase, feel free to ask. - Frank
