Bubbles in cory tank?

I bought 2 sterbais and 2 pandas on Saturday, and they're currently in a 10 gallon tank. Today I noticed that there are bubbles at the top of the tank. They look like a bubblenest of sorts. I know cories don't make bubblenests, and I don't have a bubbler running in the tank, so does anyone know what ...

I've lowered the temperature and cut down on the feeding. The other Cory tankmates are:

4 C. Aneus (sp?)
1 C. bilineatus
2 C. diphyes

I meant to say 7 cory tankmates instead of 8 in my previous post.

If your pleco is one of those that grow to be huge, get a bigger tank for it. A common pleco sharing 10 gallons with 5 cories is not enough.

Inactive C. Metae

I was feeding my fish this afternoon when I noticed that my Metae Cory, Mr. Metae, was not moving around much. All of my other Cories were as frisky as they always are, but it seemed as if Mr. Metae didn't even know the food was there. He just sat there. When I was testing the water, I accidentally ...

Common Pleco spikes

Hi,

Just recently, my Common Pleco's dorsal fin has split apart into spikes. Is this a sign of maturity? Or is it finrot?

Thanks.

Do you have a room in the house of apartment that is naturally colder in the winter time?
My fishroom is in the basement, which is naturally cooler than the rest of the house.

Breeding cories

Hello, I have a few questions about breeding cories... 1: When will cories be mature enough to spawn? 2: I have different species of cory in my tank. Will they crossbreed? 3: If they will, would there be anything to watch out for in the fry? 4: In the COTM page on Corydoras Aenus, it says that they ...

Heh, I thought how silly it would be to have a pleco tank the other day...

But then again, they are really cute, and it would be great having algae eaters that you can transfer to any of your other tanks, anytime.

Will cories eat java moss?

I added some java moss to my cory tank recently. My cories don't seem to mind it, but my Metae cories always seem as if they're nibbling it. Are my cories eating the java moss?

Also, when will cories be old enough to spawn?

Not from the same bag, but it's the same brand. Why do you ask?

Diseased albino cory-HELP!

I've been keeping a bunch of cories for about two weeks now. They've been very healthy, but today, one of my albino cories had a black spot appear right between his eyes. I've tested the water-no ammonia, no nitrite. I've quarantined the little guy in case the disease spreads to the rest of my tank ...

Neon Orange Cory?

I was picking cories for a tank at my local fish place today, and I came across a cory called "Neon Orange Cory". Could someone identify what it really is from these pictures?

Cories

Will cories of different spieces school together? I'm setting up a new tank and I'm planning on putting 20 cories in there, but not all of the same species, and I'm afraid that they might not school. Could someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

hand-feeding plecos?

I just got 2 new tanks-a 20 gallon and a 46 gallon, and I've started hand-feeding most of my fish, except for my pleco. He always seems to be scared of my hand and he'll never eat out of it. Is there anything I should do to gain more trust so he'll let me hand-feed him?

The fungus isn't actually growing on the fish. It's been gathering on a plastic log and my plants. My gouramis are showing signs of velvet, too...does that have any connection with the fungus?

White fungus-cory quarantine

I've had an aquarium for about a year now, and in August, I went on vacation, leaving my fish in the care of my housekeeper (something I will never, EVER do again). When I got back, one of my cories had died. There was some white fungus growing in my aquarium. Now, the fungus is back, and I have ...

Cory tank

I'm getting a 55 gallon tank for my birthday, and I was originally planning on it being an oscar tank, but I've changed my mind-I want it to be a cory tank now. What would be a good amount of cories to put in the tank? I'm also putting in a pleco, which is about 7 inches long right now. I'm thinking ...

Try to lodge the algae wafer in one of your plants. The other fish usually won't find it there, and your pleco will. If that doesn't work, try putting the pellet in when it is dark. If it's been dark long enough, the cories will probably be asleep when you put it in, so your pleco can eat it without ...

I'm keeping him in the other tank now, since he was ...

Yeah, he has tankmates. 2 cories and 2 gouramis, but I don't think they'd do anything to him. Perhaps he scraped it against his little cave. Oh well, I figure it would be best to quarantine him anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's not lymphocystis, since smaller white spots have been appearing on my pleco as well.

Once again, thanks for your help! I'm quarantining the pleco and I'll be giving it an ich treatment, along with putting a heater in the tank to get rid of the ich.

I posted an updated pic. I think it might be ich, because one of my gouramis in the same tank has ich-I've quarantined it though.
