If you're saying that the betta frequently bites your pygmy's tail, that could also be one of the reason why he's all mopey. remember seeing a note in w. seuss's Corydoras

Corydoras wotroi = Corydoras melanistis brevirostris

So I suppose you could be looking at Corydoras brevirostris now?

my fella looks a bit spotted ... while the hoppei looks patchy (layman description :p ) and think there's a patch under the dorsal fin, and another between the caudal fin and the dorsal fin.
How can I go about verifying if the fella in my pic is a o. hoppei?

I used to have two polystictus. This fella doesnt quite look like them. Also the face shape and body shape seems different.
He's got the face and body shape of the xingu but not the colouration nor the spots/ markings. That was what led me to wonder if he could be a sanchesi or otherwise.

Otocinclus: Bloody mouth

Hi All,

Had an oto who had a reddish mouth, thought it was a strange and rare occurance, took him out for some medication. Some time later, about a month or so, (today) I saw another fella with the same condition.

I'm stumped.

Can someone advise if it could be the wood? Kinda have a "new" wood in ...
