I now have about 100 rescued fry. :D It?s a shame you live so far away as you would be very welcome to some. These are my first 4 Pleco spawns and the thought of them going to an LFS and being bought by a novice and dumped into an un-cycled tank keeps me awake at night. Now the last batch has ...

Apistomaster, My male does have some markings that my camera didn?t pick up ? but they are not exactly the same as the female. I have noticed that during spawning and the 7 days he spends on the eggs, he does appear darker. He also has developed whiskers during these 4 spawns that weren?t there 3 ...

Whiptail ID please.
I have been given 3 different ID?s for my female Whiptail. I would really appreciate a definite ID as the oldest fry are almost ready to be re-homed ? and I need to know if the fry are cross bred. Dad is Sturisoma Festivum. Here is mum. Many thanks. :D http://www.plecofanatics.com/gallery/data/500 ...

Thank you both very much and my apologies for the delay in replying. The 4 fry have survived to day 17 :D and I would guess that they are now double in length to that when they hatched. I have been doing my usual water change routine, with 10L a day and 20L on Saturday. Each day I am using the tube ...

Feeding Whiptail fry.
Hello. :) My 4 babies are now 10 days old and have grown quite a bit. I?m not sure they have gained a lot of length, but they are about 3 times as wide as they were. I have been experimenting with different foods, but the only things I know for certain that they are eating are tinned runner beans ...

I have 4 fry in the breeding trap. (Day 2 from hatching.) I couldn?t find any other survivors in the tank though. I haven?t a clue if I?m doing things correctly! I have the trap on the front of the tank they were spawned in - in the direct flow of the spray bar. I?m unsure as to if they have fed. I ...

Whip ID please.
Hi, I posted 2 whips here a while back, and was told one was Sturisoma aureum and the other Sturisomatichthys leightoni. I now have eggs, and am trying to work out which one is which. (Another forum says this is a Sturisoma Festivum.) Picture is not brilliant and the flash has made him look a bit ...

Thanks for your reply. :D In the unlikely event of any surviving in my experienced hands â?? I will definitely hang on to them. Being my first spawn ever though â?? I canâ??t bring myself to get rid of the eggs â?? and will try my best with them. From what I have read, getting eggs is the easy part a ...

 I have eggs! (About 40.) http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c80/seventhattempt/?action=view¤t=egg2.jpg Will try for better pictures. A whiptail has laid eggs on my Fluval 4. Itâ??s sitting over the top of them and fanning them. I am a little surprised as I only have 2 whips, and Shane ...

L104 with tail filaments.
Hello. :) I have had my L104 for about 2 and a half years. During this time, he hasn't really grown much - his head has just got fatter. However, over the past 6 months his tail has been getting bigger, and he has developed some small filaments. Nowhere near as impressive as say, an L090 - but ...

I did wondered about the kit, as I canâ??t see an expiry date on it. The new kit is giving me the same results though. (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Inc master test kit.) I am very worried this morning, as another fish has darkened in colour. All other tank inhabitants are fine. No other visible problems. I had started to wonder yesterday, if he had just died of old age. However, if I have another one on the way out this morning, I feel that is unlikely. The fish is ...

Pseudeutropius Brachypopterus.
Hello. I was wondering if anyone could advise me. I had 6 Pseudeutropius Brachypopterus, but sadly this morning I am down to 5. :( Iâ??ve had them for about 3 and a half years. I noticed yesterday that one looked very, very dark in colour. Almost black. His body colour blended with his stripes. They ...

Hello, I have one of these, currently at about 10 inches. Likes a varied diet of courgette, potato, carrot, corn, prawns and bloodworm. Doesnâ??t ever touch the algae on the glass. Mine seems to prefer a temp of 26. Any warmer, and pale stress colouring appears and is a lot less active. Is always ...

A quick question to keepers of L001.
I know that the info on here is a little off, as it states a length of 8 inches. Mine has already exceeded that, and my LFS currently has one that Iâ??m guessing is about 12 inches.
What length has your L001/L022 reached?
Thank you.
