Said I'd post outcome of meds

Well, Tetra Medica Tonic (for bacterial infections) seems to have worked. Have hoovered sand daily, and done another 20% water change today. Am now crossing my fingers for the next few weeks.

Thanks to all whom tried to help

Hi

Bad news

Thought tank was getting better - back to square one - another cory dying. Anyone know what I can try next?

Thanks Silurus

I'm really relieved that he/she will only grow to 6" - he/she's my favourite fish (In a 260L tank full of bogwood, he and the L66 share the same underside of one piece of bogwood peacefully)

Hi

The above fish was bought as an upside down catfish and he/she has grown considerably. I'm sorry if the picture doesn't work out very well - I'm none too good at trying to post. If it helps, I can e- mail a better picture.

The fish is ...

Hi Coryman

Walsall. When problems re tank is sorted, I'll move breeding trio into 260 L and will try to get another Sterbai and Adolphi. Thinking of going to go to Oxford to try a shop there (they advertise their quarantine process). I'll still DEFINATELY quarantine. If you know my area, do you ...

Hi

I love Adolphi and Sterbai - I have both, but would buy at least three (preferably 5) of each. Make sure you don't do my dipstick trick of not quarantining - my present problems are down to my own stupidity. Quarantine tank had three cories breeding, I saw the Adolphi and knowing how hard they ...

Tetra Medica General Tonic - filter bacteria

Hi all

Have posted earlier re what I now believe to be a bacterial problem with Cories. LFS advised me to use above med. 24 hours later, the one cory is improved BUT the tank is now showing a trace (and I mean a very small trace) of ammonia. Direction with meds is to leave in 7 days.

I don't want ...

White fungus? on bogwood

Hi

Anyone know why white fungus grows on bogwood? How to get rid of it? Large pieces of bogwood (about £50 worth)

Thanks for any replies

Hi Pidge

Can't believe the difference meds have made to the Adolphi - thought he was on his last few breaths last night, but overnight he really perked up - enough to jump out of his breeding trap into the main tank (only put him in there so his dead body would be easy to find). Meds seem to be ...

Hi Mike

thanks for your reply. No ammonia or nitrite. I might have an answer - see above post. Fingers and toes crossed new meds work.

Hi Pidge

Have had another Cardinal die and Adolphi cat now has a sore on his head and is breathing really fast. I post to another forum quite often and moderator there suggested Columnaris Flexibacter and secondary infection from Aeromanas bacteria. Took the only sick looking cory to my LFS and ...

Help please - disease or parasites?

Hi

Some of my cories are presently flicking in the sand rather a lot - no rapid gill movement(yet) , no sign of gill flukes (no microscope though).

I've just lost 14 fish (Tetras, a Ram and 2 Cories) - I believed that the Tetras had Ich, but the Ram and Cories showed no sign of disease - they ...
