Which of the two stays the smallest then - i have looked in planet catfish database for size info on L177 but no size available, also are they suited to discus setups? It is a toss up between these, L183 starlight ancistrus and L201 Hypancistrus Inspector.

Ive never added tap water as it is hard and unfiltered - only ro is my means of filtration - if i was to add tap water (dechlorinated of course) - how much wuld you reccomend adding (to say a 5 gallon drum)?

Thanks for the prompt reply! Do you consider this stocking level to be acceptable? I will be increasing the water changes to 2 x 15 gallons per week of RO water - again is this acceptable or would you consider increasing them even more?

I am adding courgette as i was told it is a lot less detrimental on water quality than frozen foods? Am i wrong to assume this? Yeah it was a 'typo'! The nitrate was 100mg/l and nitrite was 3.0mg/l, have been perfrorming daily 25% water changes with 1/2 ro and 1/2 mature water and the nitrite is being kept under control, while the nitrate is 20 mg/l now! 1 more of the QAs is looking so good (hollow belly, sunken eyes etc ...

The L260 with sunken eyes also has a very hollow stomach and it isn now lying on its back, so i think i have lost the fight with that one :cry: ! Zebras all the way!!!

Finally got my hands on 4 more zebra plecos today (all seem happy), brings the total to 7 (these lot cost £100 each, brings the total to £565), just want to get them breeding now.... :twisted:

Which is better for a discus setup?

I have a 5 foot juwel tank containing discus, apistos, cardinals and zebra plecos, what corydoras species would be best out of the following 3;

Corydoras Adolfoi
Corydoras Panda
Corydoras Metae

Or any others you can suggest? Also how many would you reccomend? I was thinking of 6 minimum?

There is a fair amount of water flow, coming from an ehiem 2329 and 2317 and a big airpump to increase water circulation, they seem happy enough as they are eating well and are getting more active!

How to breed whiptails?

I have one very fat whiptail in my SA setup and on VERY hairy whiptail! Had them for about 10 months now! Must be 4.5" - 5.5" now. My question is how do you get them to spawn? What diet, decor? When are they sexually mature?

I have recantley purchased 3 zebra plecs (at £165 for the group) and will soon be getting some more! I have had then 48 hours and they are now in a 400 litre discus tank! My question is what do you guys feed them on and when?
