This sound ok?

Post by gex18 »

I have a juwel rio 400 (dimensions 60"x20"x24"high), filtered by a eheim 2329 wet/dry filter, eheim 2317 filter, rainbow lifegard fb300 fluidized bed and TMC 15w uv sterilzor (not using juwel filter), airpump thru 2 x 10" bubble walls; water changes 2 times a week using 15 gallons RO water each time! Stocking levels would be;

11 Discus
7 Zebra Plecos
3 Whiptails
4 blue ram cichlids
4 Apistogramma Nijessini

Is this ok?

HI Gex18!!
WOW, this is a lot of money ...
My opinion is that you cut back on discus(max 8!), maybe cut back on zebra's too(cuz it is hard to find...) and build up some rams... :wink:
no hard feelings, just my opinion!!
Did you think about cory's??

I was thinking of them! Was thinking of corydoras adolfi? I have 9 discus at the moment (will leave as that), here are revised stocking levels;

9 Discus
7 Zebra plecos (i love em)
0 whiptails (will remove)
2 rams
2 Apistogramma nijsseni
15 - 30 cardinals
how many corys?

Hi!

Remember that Hypancistrus zebra comes from fast moving waters and not almost stagnant ones as the other fishes you will keep them with...
If you love them, provide them a tank with their adequate requirements...
Cheers

There is a fair amount of water flow, coming from an ehiem 2329 and 2317 and a big airpump to increase water circulation, they seem happy enough as they are eating well and are getting more active!

Hi!

So it is the other fish that won't much appreciate it...
Anyway you won't be able to please both, or either breed both...
Cheers
