Hi! If you are planning to keep L114 you better be a little careful what numbers you keep and to make you tank filled with roots, caves and things that can be turned into territories. I dont know the size of your tank but it shouldnt be less than about 125 gallons or 500 liters. I have L25 and they ...

Guess we have encountered the equalent of Virgin Mary in the fish world, a home breed wild caught(a pregnant virgin). You could ofcourse let it go in a river and catch it again claiming it now was a genuine wild caught! Is this fish also known as Xantos artificial coloured or what? Do they look as ...

Young male

Hi Ivar! To me its looks like a young about to mature male! You can see the bristles starting to grow and in the common bristlenose the females are bristleless as far as Im concerned. In the coming time it should all be more clear as the bristles should grow big as beatifull, otherwise you know why ...

Things to be aware of when wanting to raise loricariidae fry

Hi all! I am hoping that, I can get some tips from the people in here who have experience with raising frys, what is the best way to go with loricariidae? I guess it best to take the eggs if the aquarium is to large for feeding the fry´s right. After the yolk sac is eaten, artemia is the best i ...

Hi! Simple answer yes: Long answer: If its the common ancistrus AKA bristlenose you are referring too, you can breed it bare bottom, planted etc etc. Just remember to have a nice tube about an inch wide and about 4-5 inchs long. You can find some in your local buikding market. All plecos love tubes ...

How does the genitals look different on plecos?

Hi ! I am wondering, it what shape are the genitals different on plecos, especially pseudacanthicus. All the normal features with looking on odontales growth and body shape are almost useless with these. I have been able to spot that the smal one is a little more round and have a long ( 3 mm) tube ...

Hi! I think there is a normal genetic explanation for this, its probably a varieation among the cells ability to produce the colour protein. Those cell proliferate in certain areas causing it to become white. So it might be rare but probably harmless or if its harmfull it will only affect the number ...

Bristlenose is always a winner fish and they even breed in community tanks! Keep away from the royal (any panaque)they will chew your wood/plants etc. If you want something more excotic, there is different species of bristlenoses, they are somewhat harder to breed but stil quiet good fish for a ...

Like the others say its probably a pseudacanticus of some sort look through the catelog to find it. Cactus plecos is a general term for the pseudacanticus. I have seen it most often used for the L-24 but they are all cactus plecos due to all the odontales(stingers) in long rows down their back ...

Hey! Yes Yann, I thought about that fact too. But I guess with four size XL pseudacantricus they are hard to comeby, so perhaps they will just take what they have. Sexing Psedacantricus. Is wild caught females rare?

Greetings! I think the description in the catelog is pretty meager. So I am hoping some of you might have a better description or maybe some pictures to define sex in these fish.
