Pygmy corys not looking well.
I have four pygmy corys in a 30 gallon tank housed with 3 rubbernose plecos and 7 green fire tetras. I have eco complete as the substrate with some dark driftwood and a piece of slate. The tank has been set up for almost a month. I skipped starting a cycle by having the intended filter (eheim ecco ...

preserving dead fish
Fish die. Its sad but they do. One died recently that I have had for over 10 years. I would like to preserve it as I don't feel I'll find another like it. It was a Bunocephalus amazonicus. I would like to keep this specimen in as preserved a condition as possible. I have wanted to do this with past ...

thanks
I am hoping to design it myself. And it is not for breeding as these guys need to burrow to do that. Its just a place that they call call their own. Somewhere to hide if they want and defend and share whatever. Just sort of aquascaping with clay. That may be a better way of putting it. just want to ...

clay cave
I am thinking of making or having a clay cave made to suit some large plecos. I am not sure if I can use just any clay or if I have to stick to specific types so I don't leech anything in the water. These aren't for breeding just a place to hang. I'm not sure of the design yet I think I will play ...

bullhead died
I found my black bullhead dead this morning. The same one in most of the pics posted on this site. He had blood around his anus. I am thinking he ate something he couldn't pass and it plugged him up. I put in a few small snails not too long ago. But if that were the case wouldn't an accident ...

get bit
My bullhead will bite me from time to time mistaking me for food. Once he realizes that it is attached to something MUCH lager than he (once I wiggle it) he lets go. Its quite a shock because they hit kinda hard but hes only 6 to 7 inches so its not painfull.

snail eating pleco
I havve what I thnk to be some sort of Leporacanthicus. I have read that some of these eat snails. I have it in a tank with apple snails. One adult, about 30 averaging 30cm, and a fresh clutch of eggs. I am wondering how a pleco would eat the snails. Can they eat all sizes. I can understand how they ...

yeah
$80 is expensive but as long ass ppl pay it they will continue to sell them at inflated prices. I wouldn't normaly pay more than $50 for a catfish but these green ones are way cool. I am sure someone will buy him before they even dream of dropping the price.

They said it was sold to them as a "sharpnose" and they hadn't heard of it before either and they are the premeir pleco store in the midwest. Sharp nose pleco?
I just got a black pleco that is about 2 - 3 inches long. I has some white spots on it that are mosty from the dorsal fin and back to the tail. I did see a few from dorsal to head but not as many or as large. They sold him to me as a Sharpnose pleco. They didn't know what L # it was or its latin ...

fungus
I heard that the fungus will stop growing once the bacteria in your tank develope to take care of it. I would just let it be until it cures itself. It may take a while but it doesn't harm the fish. The bacteria that take on the fungus are not the same as the ones that take part in the nitrogen cycle ...

That wan't the first time I quit but I believe it will be that last. You REALLY have to WANT to quit. It is one of the hardest things to do. They say it is harder then kicking a heroin addiction. It sounds like they caught it by hand. If so it was either already dead or becoming fishfood. The champange thing while not cool was just a joke. I don't see why they should be so punished for this. Pleco and slime
I have an adult Uaru which produces slime similar to the discus. My L001 would at times suck on him but very wearily. This only happend when the Uaru offered himself to him. Is the fry mimicry the norm with very small bristlenose as well. I have a bunch that are barely an inch and I have seen them sit in their hiding spots with their tail barely showing and twich it. These guys are no more than six months old.

Upside down catfish
If you want a catfish to take on the top level them some upsidedown cats will do. They look like cory cats to me that swim upside down. Most will feed from the waters surface.
