I needed something bigger. Outage was due to an ice storm. My house was down to 34F. I have a 5500 watt generator now which will be enough to provide power for all 10 tanks if anything like that happens again.

Replacements for power outage losses are here!

After losing all of my fish from a 9 day power outage, I finally got some replacements in yesterday. Here's what I picked up.
L333 X 3
L25
L273
L90
L200
L264 X 2
L114

All for $110. It's good to have something to look at in my tanks again.

I am staying at my sisters. Still no power at my house. And the LFS lost his power too for 3 days.

Day number nine and we're still without power. They say it could be another week yet before everyone is restored. I plan on getting a generator in about a month when all of the ones that were just purchased start hitting the used market

Thanks guys, I'll get back to you if I need to once I get the tanks up and running again. Generators have been a scarce commodity around here. I had a friend go to Home Depot on the second day after the storm hit and he was #603 on the waiting list. On the plus side all of the pl*cos will be easily ...

Power outage. Lost EVERYTHING

This is the first time I've been able to get online since the worst ice storm in over 50 years rolled through the area 5 days ago, knocking out the electricity. I used battery powered airstones, and floated bags of hot water to try to keep the temps up, but I lost the battle. Here are my losses 1 ...

My L273 won't touch algae wafers, but he devours shrimp pellets and carnivore sticks.

[quote="racollThe most accepted veg I have found is broad (fava) beans from a can. These can be frozen for convenience. Another good one is sweet potato. The Baryancistrus especially love this. [/quote] How do you prepare the sweet potato? I didn't feed the tanks for 3 days thinking they would get ...

I've only had them for about a month. From what I've read on the boards I thought zuchinni was supposed to be the thing that no pl*co could resist. All of them eat the meaty stuff like pigs. Even the gold nugget started eating on the second day, which surprised me. How will it adversely effect them ...

My fish won't eat veggies

The only thing my pl*cos will eat is meaty foods, such as shrimp pellets, carnivore sticks, bloodworms etc. I have tried zuchinni and algae wafers, but they go completely untouched. My fish are as follows: L-155 L-66 L-177 L-273 L-25 L-253 L-204 L-264 LDA-33 I know that most of these species are ...

He's in a 125 gallon tank with an L66, L102 and a group of Cyathopharynx Foai. The L25 is the dominant pl*co of the three, as witnessed when he forced the L66 out of his residence upon introduction.

L25 activity (or lack of)

I acquired a 4" l25 2 weeks ago and am still waiting to see it move. I know it eats because I've seen the pile of feces next to it in the morning. How long do they usually have to be in a new environment before they feel comfortable enough to forage around before lights out? Thanks
Steve
