This is the first I've heard of dither fish and I'm pretty interested. So basically they are very active mid-water to surface dwellers, which kinda give the cats confidence that there are no predators and stuff around and therefore encourage them to come out into the open?

That's really kewl. I am ...

Spawn Fungus Problems

Hey everyone,

I have been trying to breed some catfish and have been able to get eggs a few times but they always seem to be taken over by spawn fungus before they can hatch. At first i tried keeping them in a floating mesh basket spread in a single layer but the fungus got them. Tried a few ways ...

Oto and Haplo ID

Hey there people,

I just got a digi pic and managed to snap some nice pics of 2 of my cats and was wondering whether they could be ID'd to species. I just know them as Oto and Haplo ;)

I was thinkin that if they could be ID'd to species I could submit the pics to the Cat-E-Log if they are needed ...

Wow, congrats. I should be getting some multi's soon ans hope I can breed them. Are your mbuna's spawning? Also, what you feeding your multi's on?

Eggs probably do pretty well in there. Has good water flow so they don't get fungus i gues ;) hehe. And once the egg is in it probably gets lodged so ...

Aquaholic: Thanks for the kind words and info

You used that product on catfish eggs? cause i've heard that meth blue etc kills syno eggs, which is why I haven't been using it. I'd be keen to try :)

I personally also think hormone injecting fish to breed them is way better than catching ...

I know it's not so good but I'm working on doing it naturally soon. I'm getting them to condition nicely and regularily already. Half the battle.

What you think of my tumbling speed? Too vigorous

I think that tray you are seeing under the pot is just a bit of an optical illusion from the glass 8)

When trying to make rough entrance and holes in my terracota pots i usually fill them up with sand and bury them in sand with only the bit i want to break exposed. I then use a hammer to break the ...

I sent the pic to the original wholesaler and asked them to ID it. Didn't say where I got it or what I thought it was.

They said 'thanks for your mail. i guess this is a crossbreed of synodontis mutlipunctatus and synodontis velifer (eupterus)'

I guess that verifies that :(

what a bummer

Thanks ...

This is terrible. I wanted multi's. Who the hell wants to buy hybrid catfish. I'm going to have to try sell the babies from these guys :(

Hate ...
