Thanks.

I will have a look into it further. Either way it will be a costly thing to do.

Would a depth of 6ft be deep enough? I don't think it would be really.

It seems to be becomming more unrealistic.

Thanks for all the help.

Hey,

That link was really helpful thanks for that.

You talked about a heated pond, could some kind of swimming pool heater be used to heat it?

I think I will have to get a swimming pool built by the looks of things.

Thanks.

Hey all, I was just wandering if anyone knows anywhere in the UK that has any large redtail catfish on display? I've seen one at 2ft in Nottingham and another one at 2ft in a place near Birmingham. Also, I am seriously considering building a massive tank/enclosure or indoor pond for my 15" redtail ...

Occasionally my redtail would shed a little skin but I read somewhere that this was ok but not in vast amounts. I don't know much about it myself but I would suggest reading up on it.

They are more likely to accept mangos and other tropical fruit as these are more likely to be found in their natural habitat. I found that my redtail would eat mango.

My redtail when I first had him would sit for hours without moving. I too found that when I put food in he would move and when the light was turned off too. After a while he was fine and became more active. I'm still not sure what was up with him, maybe he needed to settle into the new tank. Just ...

The filtration that I have is Aquapro 4, that cycles 1200L an hour. Is this enough? Should I put on a second or bigger filter? The tank that I have is a Juwel Trigon 350. The Nitrite level is currently at 0.6 as I am doing more regular water changes. But this has been known to rise to 2.4 which is ...

The Nitrate, Nitrite and Ammonia levels are ok according to the test kits that I have. The Nitrite level can sometimes be a little higher than I'd like but it is generally safe. I perform a 30% water change once a week, is this enough?
I will read the catfish Sticky and see if that helps.
Thanks.

It is housed in a tank that is 350L, the pH was 6 the last time I checked, the water hardness is roughly 10 dH and the water temp is 25 c. He was previously feeding on prawns, white bait and other small live fish. Hope this helps.

Redtail Catfish

Hi, I have a Redtail Catfish he is currently about 15" long and seems to be going off his food. I was told that he may need worming? and that I should contact the vets. Does anyone know anything about this? I am unsure of whether the information that I was given is accurate. If anyone knows anything ...
