Re: New uses of black worms
Also Walstad tanks required sunlight so real algae fanatics would have plenty to sustain them as long as the plants didn't rob all the nutrients from the algae
Since when do they? None of mine do. One of mine is a 25L has a 11W bulb overhead and it has Riccia amongst other growing well in it ...

Re: New uses of black worms
Interesting use of black worms.
I use Walstad tanks (layer of soil) and whilst the 40,000+ species of bacteria and fungi in the soil breaks down food, etc., I think some of these worms would help aerate the upper level better and provide some extra food for my fish.
But being in the UK, I can not ...

Re: Creating a offline Planetcatfish
But only for the purpose of viewing in a web-site - not distributing it in any other form - see below.
But surely that is 100% what an offline web site is doing?
From my point of view there is no difference from having a text or image file in a temp or cache folder of a web browser or in a ...

Re: Creating a offline Planetcatfish
But when you view an image off the Internet, you are in fact distributing it aren't you?
In any case it's easy for a web admin to do a mass email to all its members and for it to be known there is going to be a condition change and people have to opt-out if they object.

Creating a offline Planetcatfish
Hi Julian,
Ever thought about creating a offline version of your site?
There is now free packages that run Apache, mysql, php, etc. all from a USB stick or your local drive.
These allow you to view the site via a web browser as if you're getting it off the Internet.

Can someone id this Cory I rescued?
Hi folks,
I've rescued a Cory from a very dirty 3' tank containing a 12" Crayfish and this lone Cory.
Can anyone id the species?
He appears to have lost his barbels and has some dorsal damage which will probably heal.
Will the barbels grow back do you think?

Weird Cory behaviour?
I've had these Leopard Cory cats (Corydoras trilineatus) for 6 months now and today I saw some unique (well to me) behaviour for the first time.
So I was wondering if anyone could help.
I've also got 3 Peppered Corys in this same tank and these court in the
usual way, male tries nuzzling his mouth ...

Is this a Clown Pleco?
Can you help?
I ask because it's not got very distintive bands along its body like in the PlanetCatfish Gallery.
I've had it about 6 months and its very shy.
I've got bits of bogwood in the tank but I've yet to see it chew on it.
This fish is about 2-2.5" long.

Not a Peppered Cory?
I got 2 of these recently to go in with my 5 Peppered Corys and in the clear light of day I realised they're not quite the same.
The fish's blotchy colour is quite black with a white skin and its not got the usual green sheen of Peppers and the nose on this fish looks longer than my ...

I've some pictures of Corydoras trilineatus and I've noticed PlanetCatfish doesn't have a section for this Cory. Just Corydoras julii.

No idea what species this fish is
Hi folks,
I've had this lone catfish in my tank for a year and he seems to be very chummy with my Corys. He certainly seems to think he is a Cory!
He is the length of my Bronze Corys.
I first I thought he was a Oto, but he has a adipose fin and the Otos I've seen don't.
If would be great if ...

It is now! I've fixed this link now and added the link feature Mats was talking about elsewhere. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, that's what this topic is all about.
Mats has answered that as I wrote this but you're more than welcome. I recognise that triops website, I think I'm a member ...

Re: Broken links!?!?
OK, I've been putting this off for years but the cat-elog alone is now 10,000 files and growing. I need to rationalise a few things.
So, there will likely be broken links galore as I change things around. You'll notice that most generated pages will change to uppercase. This will allow me to ...
