Thanks!

Well at first i have two males. And i thought for a while to keep only one. I will do it now.

I can not give them a dedicated breeding tank, but i will try to get it close as possible.

Thanks again,

L204 breeding

Hi,

Without waking up some old postd.

Did anyone here able to breed the L204 recently? Any tips that you can give?

I got the L260 breeding in the same tank (and NBs), but the L204 are still enigma to me.

Thanks,

I would also say the first two are males and the last one female. I have six of them at similar sizes (sub 9cm SL) for almost a year now, and one of the males started recently to show much more hairs, so we don't need to wait till 11cm to sex them. It is a goog news for me, hopefully they will breed ...

Thanks apistomaster. I am not sure i gave them the best treatment in the first months, they were added to isolation tank with BN that dominated the tank and the food. I am still interested in there body shape. Mine are very rounded, and i think the big ones are both males. Are Panaque maccus males ...

I don't think the articles have all the information we need, so more info will help. We are several people here in Israel that bought a group of L204 for breeding, so i am expecting ...

Breeding L204

Hi,

I have 5 of them in a 60L tank and i would like to breed them there.

How many should i keep there? I can easily sex them...

What is the water conductivity that i should reach? I would like to breed them at 400, is it low enough?

Any other tip? food?

Thanks.

The tank has drizzle water exchange and i am only cheking the conductivity. The water should be ok.

I think you are right, the most problematic fish is the second in size fish (look like male, as some as the big one).

Where is the point where it become dangerous to the fish?

L204 - white skin around his head and nose

I bought two days ago 5 L204 at about 9 cm and put them in a 60L tank. I just notice that one of them has very white skin around his head and nose. What it could be? He is active. Could it be bites from the others L204? Stress ? They just arrived from Pero 4 days ago. The tanks has only those 5 L204 ...

Well review them carefully, they are hard to find... i have two "big" ones at 7cm, probably males and three small onces 5 cm could be still young or female. I think i will give tham several more months, what do you think?

In that case, could make more sense to wait some more months before starting to breed them, at least i will know they ready. And not wasting a tank for nothing.

What do you think?

Panaque maccus, breeding

At what age and size Panaque maccus start breeding?

I have five of them for almost a year and they are about 7 cm. I got them at about 3-4 cm. Is the grow speed normal?

Thanks,
Zohar
