Do you think you can call your LFS and find out what river they come from
Here my LFS got a list of where each species are actually caught, maybe your lfs have the same...
That would be a great help...
In Norway i often find L-183, sold as L59....so getting the name of the river might help

Thanks Yann :D In the post on GOC, Janne also thinks this is a Hypancistrus Sp 201. Reason : The bodyshape is similar, and they are also exported often as L007 and L240 as the wholesale dealer view them as young edtion of galaxias. I wonder if anyone could confirm this? http://www.planetcatfish.com ...

I bought 3 L59's a while back. They ended up being L183. Your fish is very much different. L183 has a more rounded, paddle like tail. Don Ok, the fish i have got seems to have a mere touch of transport damage to the fins, so i have to fatten them up a bit, and to do a lot of water changes before ...

I agree with you that the pics above does not show any small white spots at all, I did not see that in the shop either. The reason I donâ??t believe it is a L-088, is the fact that it was caught in Rio Negro, according to the list the importer got from his guys in Brazil, a list I have access to. ...

A single melanistic male was exported from Paraguay. He was then spawned with the normal color females in the same shipment and ...

L144 was found in Paraguay. They did exist in the wild, but you'll have to search high and low for WC nowadays.Have not seen a WC L144 for years now-All of the L144 in Norway is breed. The yellow colour is natural, and not man made. However some of the fry is born with brown spots Maybe its orginal ...
