Which Repashy for my tank?
I have a question about Repashy. I'm having a hard time deciding between Super Green or Soilent Green.
The plecos in the tank include L129, L387, LDA74, and Acestridium Dichromum (green whiptail).
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hair algae?
I had put a nice algae-covered rock in the tank prior to receiving them, as I had read that this is the only thing that they will eat. I'm going to be setting up an algae farm outside in a bucket in the sun, but so far the fish have shown no interest in the rock but are definitely eating Repashy, I ...

Re: Hair algae?
Thank you. I seem to have gotten rid of the algae. I did a moderately large water change and did spot treatments on any algae that I could find, with Flourish Excel. I only treated in this way twice, both times using less than the maximum recommended amount for my size tank. The plants are doing ...

Re: Hair algae?
I remembered that Flourish Excel is an algaecide at double dosage, so I just ordered some. Will this be safer for my fish and effective against green hair algae? I'm having some difficulty finding a lot of info about green hair algae in a freshwater tank, most articles that I'm finding are for salt ...

Hair algae?
One of my tanks has developed a problem with hair algae. I don't know where it came from, but it completely infiltrated a large growth of moss (not sure on ID on the moss, but it's been doing fabulously well for a year and a half, growing from the size of a golf ball to the size of my head). There ...

Acestridium dichromum and others vs hair algae?
I just bought some Acestridium dichromum ('green whiptail'; 'green farlowella') and they came in with plump bellies, active, seen regularly on the glass. I gave them a fist-sized rock with a good growth of algae and will be making an algae garden for them soon (rocks in a bucket in a sunny spot ...

Bristlenose fry; now what?
I had set up a 55 gallon tank for my angelfish to spawn without having their eggs eaten by my L137 again. I put a trio of bns in there just for the heck of it, without any expectation of them breeding since they have never done so before. Well, the bns beat the angels to it. Within days of setting ...

BN breeding questions- overlapping clutches in same cave?
Shelby Watters 2 hrs · Bandon I have a couple of questions. It's just about bns, but this is a new situation for me so I hope someone will have some help for me. I have a trio of bns in a tank. Last week, I discovered that the male was on eggs. I got a picture, which I will post. I took the angels ...

Thank you! I'm leaning toward getting them both now. I just bought 12 pandas, they of course are my favorites. The more I look at the concolors the better I like them.

Concolor or agassazii?
Which would you choose, and why? Or should I just jump and get both? They will be going into a planted 55 gallon tank with tetras and a couple of angels, well filtered, perfect parameters (0.0. <15).

Gorgeous fish. A friend of mine gave him to me. He seems happy, not hiding unduly and eating already (cooked shrimp meat). I'm so excited! Any tips would be appreciated, info out there is slim.

L137 breeding in captivity?
I have an L137, he's about 6 inches long. The other day I put some pleco caves in there for the bns, well the L137 has taken possession of one of them. He's in the classic stance, head inside the cave, tail out and waving it around.

Does anyone know much about L464?
I'm thinking of getting a pair or trio of L464 but can't find much about them. I read their listing in the Cat e log, and I've searched the forums here using various terms but I'm not turning up anything. If anyone knows anything about these little guys, I'd love to learn. Thank you.

I was able to get some good pics of a ventral view (that seems awkwardly worded), I was hoping that this might help, or perhaps even help to sex this fish. Re: L137 care requirements?
Thank you. I have a 4x2x2 120, do you think that that will be sufficient for L137? I really love L47, it's one of those that I fell in love with at first sight, but I am not at all confident that I can keep it feeding happily, based on having read so many stories of failure with it. L137 is another ...

L137 care requirements?
I'm considering getting an L137 blue eye red fin bruno. I'm having trouble finding information about it though. Does it eat primarily wood? Is this a species that is usually more on the shy end of things, or is it a fish that would generally be more active in the tank? Does it do well in captivity ...

Re: Farlowella ID?
I think you got it spot on with Sturisoma aureum. The pictures are a dead ringer for my fish, and the size is spot on too. I forgot to include that in my OP, this fish is just about 7" tl, so 5.9" sl sounds about right with the caudal filaments. Are care requirements similar to those of the ...

Questions about feeding mussels to L264
I have recently gotten two L264. They are settling in nicely, eating well and seem happy. I've had them for 2 or 3 weeks. They are in my community tank with mostly angels and several bns. I've been reading as much as possible about them, and have been feeding them various vegetables (zucchini ...
