Hi Phatfish. A friend of mine had similar problems with another type of pl*co and tried some of the Pl*co Power Pellets that I sell. His pl*cos went right after this food. I can send you a sample to try if you'd like. E-mail me at amyersjr@stny.rr.com

Just my two cents. I have Bristlenose adults in all of my angelfish and guppy tanks. On many ocassions, I have seen the adult Bristlenose aggressively chase an adult angel or guppy away from an algae wafer or sinking pellet. However, I have never seen a Bristlenose harm anything.....just a few idle ...

tjudy, Regarding snails, specifically ramshorn, I have always found them as a valuable addition to any tank that is being used to rear fry and juvenile fish. I used them in every angelfish pair and juvie tank for several years. They really are somewhat of a safety buffer when you may have slightly ...

yhbae, Congratulations! It looks like things are finally working right for you and your bristlenose. Water quality is probably the critical element for success. Keeping food in front of the bn babies while maintaining water quality is a balancing act. However, I believe wood is essential at some ...

Kevin, Thanks for the detailed info and history on the Starlights. Sounds like I have some waiting to do until they are mature enough to breed :( Derek, Right now I only have Albino Bristlenose babies. My pair is on their 3rd batch of eggs now in a little over nine weeks. The ones in the picture are ...

LLC, I think it would be kind of tough to sex the Bristlenose at 1" long. I have a bunch of 1.75"+ that I still can't tell whether or not they are males or females, as none of them have any bristles yet. There are a lot of good deals on Aquabid for Bristlenose, and they are much cheaper than $8 each ...

Barbie, Good point on the albinos not even trying to hide. I have some Starlights BNs that are next to invisible when you peer into their tank. As a matter of fact, I can't get within 8 feet of their tank without them diving for cover. On the other hand, the Albino BNs will actually swarm to a piece ...

Derek, I also have some albino bristlenose that are breeding like mad and the babies are eating like crazy. And I have some clown pl*cos that I would love to be able to breed someday, are these difficult? I'm picking up some L-333's tomorrow. I have the "Pl*co Addiction"! Attahed is a picture of ...

Where can I find Starlight Bristlenose?
I've checked every LFS within a 50 mile radius and also online at Aquabid, but I have had no luck finding Starlight Bristlenose. Does anyone have any for sale or know where I could find some?? Thanks in advance!

Yann, Thanks for the quick reply. I've attached a picture of the female with some of her babies. As you can see, she is quite heavy in the mid-section again. It has been 16 days since she last laid eggs. What is the typical time between spawnings? Thanks in advance. Allen http://www.geocities.com ...

Bristlenose babies at one week free-swimming
Hello all. Hope this works. Here is a picture of my Bristlenose pair with some of their babies at one week free swimming. The male is upside down in his cave. The babies are eating well and growing like weeds. Enjoy!

Will my Bristlenose pair spawn again?
Hello. Just wondering if my Bristlenose pair will spawn again with one week free-swimming bristlenose babies in the tank? There are about 25 babies in the tank that are growing really fast. The male is back in his cave and comes out to chase the female every 30 minutes or so. This is what he did ...

Barbie, You were right about how fast they will grow while consuming their yolk sacs. They went from basically an egg with a sliver for a tail to tiny miniatures of their parents with fully developed fins in just 3 days! A few of them are out and about and their yolk sacs are just about depleted. I ...

Bristlenose Babies - What to feed first?
My albino bristlenose laid eggs on Sunday and I just noticed that they have hatched and some of the babies are hanging on the glass and driftwood. I read somewhere on the net that they will not grow quickly without protein in their diet?? What is the best first food for these once their yolk sack is ...
