Re: Cories in a 10 gallon?
At this moment, in a 15 gallon tank, I have: 12 pandas (adult), 10 sterbai (3 cm), 9 schwartzi (adult) and 5 agassizii (adult).
All depends on your filter system and water changes.
changes:
10% every 2 or 3 days
40% every week (on weekends).
They live great, they spawn, they are happy. I know they ...

Don't euthanase humanly, euthanase fishely.

Re: Glass bottom for catfish tank
I use bare bottoms. Easy to clean, no hidden detritus. More easy water flow to filters. No anaerobic regions.
It's my opinion. (my tanks aren't to show in the living room; they are in my fishroom where no guest allowed jajaja).

Re: C. Panda. Have Stopped Spawning
Hi Biffa,
I agree with Corycory on water changes and I agree with rmc on spawning mops
I have about 20 panda in the same tank.
I have only one spawning mop, but its tail goes up to the middle on the water column, so the pandas must go hi only to spawn and are on the bottom the other time. I have ...

Re: Corys in an outdoor pond
The bigger is, the lower the thermal fluctuation between day and night. Here in Buenos Aires, the paleatus lives in lakes and small rivers. On winter, the air temp is so low like -1C. I don't know how low the water goes on. I will check this winter.

So interesting. Which cory species exhibits this behavior?

Re: Looking for help, please
Corycory: Off course. I'm not doing this with my corys. It is to read and take a dimension on the odds to work on hard to breed species.

debbeesm23: read this article about "Dry and Rainy Seasons in the Tank" from aquarticles.com written by Kristian Adolfsson.
Emulating the Dry and Rainy Seasons is the key to hard species to bred.

Re: How long to fast cory catfish
Good biological filtration don't need to catch up. If you need, you must enlarge the bacterial surface.

Re: Lethargic Corys after adding aquarium salt
I need to make a clarification: there are two fundamental filtration types to take in mind. The first is the mechanical filtration where the detritus are separated from the water. Then the "clean" water goes through the biological filtration where the bacteria transforms the ammonia into nitrites ...

Re: Breeding cory's - Questions
Axolo: if you read for some methods to emulate rainy season for hardy coryes to breed, one of the tips is to increase the flow of the water to emulate increased flow on rivers by rainy season.

Re: Lethargic Corys after adding aquarium salt
I think you are confusing nitrites with nitrates. Nitrites are very toxic. Nitrates none at low levels. Nitrates are reduced by water changes and plant growing, or an anaerobic filtration. Nitrites are reduced by biological filtration to nitrates by aerobic bacteria.

Paleatus isn't an Amazon Biotope fish. Here in Argentinean rivers we found it in waters with very low temperatures for winter season.

How many eggs they laid?
I have 11 panda with 5 schwartzi and 9 agassizii.
I had 3 panda spawns, The first with 2 eggs. The 2nd with 10 eggs, and the last with 8 eggs.
