I've sat there staring at them and I think that they may be Sturisoma Areum.

Re: Should hybrid or bred forms of Plecos be given l-numbers

My view on the l-number system is that it's for unidentified (versus undescribed) hypostominae (or at least Loricariidae excluding loricariinae and hypoptopominae). Which is why phenotypes are and hybrids could, be included. But I think consensus is that hybrids should not be included (although it ...

Re: Should hybrid or bred forms of Plecos be given l-numbers

I personally feel that hybrids should not be given proper classification of any kind. It, IMHO, will lead to the creation of all kinds of weird and wonderful inventions and will sully the proper keeping of fish

Re: Bola Plecs

That is why I am asking. It is great to have catalogues, but nothing replaces consultation with people. By the way, here on planet catfish it also says there are odontodes on. The back of bola plec.

In short, the only way to sex them is the head is wider on the mail

L017 or L067

From what I understand that both L017 and L067 have yellow coloration on the caudal fins and only the L067 has this colouration on the dorsal fin. Is this true in juvenile fish as well? I have a chance to purchase L017s and want to make sure that they are L017s and not L067. I ma having difficulties ...
