I've heard angelica and euptera were being hybridized in Florida, this unfortunately could be the result.

I have a brichardi and a decorus both bought in 1980. Both are still going strong.

Almost hate to ask, how big does it get?

I have a chance to get Syn. filamentosa. My concern is the temp. Everything I read it should be 69 - 75. The tank I would be putting it in is 79-80 degrees. Is that going to be a problem?

This might be old. I was looking at Catfish of the month (December,2009), that pic is not congica. It's either nummifer,decorus or hybrid. What does everyone think?

I believe it is the real deal. I have seen pictures of juvenile ornatapinnis from 20-25 years ago and they all had vermiculated head patterns. I don't believe the Czech hybrids were around back then. I have been a big Syno fan for almost 30 years and I don't know which is worse- hybrid Synos or ...

They are a hybrid, I think- eupterus X ocellifer. Don't look like the real thing at all, and their tag says they grow to 7 or 8 inches!!!!
