I've heard angelica and euptera were being hybridized in Florida, this unfortunately could be the result.

I have a brichardi and a decorus both bought in 1980. Both are still going strong.

Synodontis filamentosa
I have a chance to get Syn. filamentosa. My concern is the temp. Everything I read it should be 69 - 75. The tank I would be putting it in is 79-80 degrees. Is that going to be a problem?
Thanks,
Tom

Would like more info on this Hypostomus - aggression, hardiness, diet, etc. It shows 10 people having it so hopefully I'll get some responses.

"defect" - fortunately or unfortunately you have my interest. How does this effect the fish - I guess I specifically mean health and/or longevity?

Ancistrus variations
I have seen pics of green dragon and red calico Ancistrus. My question is do they maintain these colors as adults or go back to the brown?

This might be old. I was looking at Catfish of the month (December,2009), that pic is not congica. It's either nummifer, decorus or hybrid. What does everyone think?

Re: SYNODONTIS ZAMBEZIENSIS FIND ?
What is their website and is there a picture? In 1981 I bought what was supposed to be zambiensis. After years of trying to ID it I finally, with help from a German hobbyist, IDed it as macrostoma. It had a wavy pattern on it, the true zambiensis is solid colored, I think brown. My fish died in ...

What is a good algae eater for a 75? Ideally a fish that is 8" or less and something a little more exotic than the common Ancistrus.

Centradoras brachiatus
Are C. brachiatus predatory in nature at all. Reason asking- thinking of putting 12" one in 180 gal. which has a 5" Syn. polli in it. Do you foresee any problems?

Re: Synodontis ornatipinnis or hybrid?
I believe it is the real deal. I have seen pictures of juvenile ornatapinnis from 20-25 years ago and they all had vermiculated head patterns. I don't believe the Czech hybrids were around back then. I have been a big Syno fan for almost 30 years and I don't know which is worse- hybrid Synos or ...

Re: synodontis longirostris
They are a hybrid, I think- eupterus X ocellifer. Don't look like the real thing at all, and their tag says they grow to 7 or 8 inches!!!!
