Re: Poorly cories
I've done a water test this morning and my nitrates are only 10-20 - that'll be the 50% water change this week I think. Po4 is higher than I'd like so it looks like my remover needs changing. Most worryingly though is that my pH is reading at 4.5. This is way lower than I'd like. It has been lower ...

Re: Poorly cories
Hello Coryman and thank you for your reply. An update first. I added a broad spectrum parasite/bacteria med and one cory is recovering but the poor panda is no better. I did a 50% water change yesterday. I admit that I am struggling with water changes due to disability. I have planted my tank very ...

Re: Poorly cories
69 views and no replies so I'm guessing everyone here is stumped too.
The plan now is to look for a broad spectrum parasite/bacteria treatment and hope for the best. I can't leave them both like this, the panda especially
Thanks anyway guys

Re: Poorly cories
got him. You can't really see it but there's a white patch behind his dorsal fin and the white 'spots' on his side. None of my other fish have white spot so I doubt very much that this is white spot - unless there's a white spot that only affects cories that I don't know about?? http://s1127 ...

Poorly cories
Hi, I'm posting because I've got two cories with some kind of external problem going on and I don't know what it is so what to treat it with. This started a long time ago with a male panda cory. He started with what looked like a fat lump on one fin then white patches appeared - he looked like he's ...

Re: Black Cories
thank you very much. So c. aeneus would be my bronzes so I've got to hope that I get a good mixture with the blacks. I'm going back this morning to have another look at them. I didn't count how many they had when I was there yesterday.
Many thanks once again

Black Cories
Hi everyone. My lfs have some black cories in stock and I've wanted some for a long time. They are labelled as black venezualen cories but I remember reading somewhere recently that many labelled as this are actually shultzi's. So recently I discovered that certain cories can interbreed. I have ...

Re: panda cory fry
guessing no one knows the answer to my question.
No matter, my Dad has agreed to take these little babies in and keep them in his tank so they never enter the public domain. We can't know for sure if they are full panda or hybrid so I think this is the best option. Thanks anyway guys

panda cory fry
Hello, I have a question regarding some panda cory fry that I have currently. I woke up 10 weeks ago to eggs all over my glass. I quickly removed them (with my tetra's circling) and added them to a plastic sandwich tray with an air stone and suspended it in the tank and waited for them to hatch ...

Re: Salt vs Cory
Hi and thanks. My plan (if I can get the okay to do it!) would be to 'dip' the cory rather than 'bath' her (I've only just learned there's a difference in the terminology of the two!) What I have done in the past for external parasites, cuts, or sores is to add a small amount of epsom salt to a jug ...

Re: Salt vs Cory
Hi, I've just been linked to this thread from another forum as I was asking similar questions to this. I've been aware of the 'rule' of cories not tolerating salt for many years and I've never allowed any of my cories to come into contact with it at all. Recently though of my peppered females ...

Re: Panda and melini cories
hi and thanks for the reply. I spoke to my lfs about them. Currently I have another baby panda that has shown up - this will be 2 now that have been hatched in the community tank and managed to avoid being eaten. This now brings my panda stock to 6 which is enough for me. I have no intention of ...

Re: Panda and melini cories
okay, so it is possible for these to cross-breed. My panda's are two definite females, one definite male - the other I'm not certain of but I'm leaning toward male also. The new baby panda that was born in the tank is also looking to be male. As for the melini's - they're too young to sex just yet ...

Re: Panda and melini cories
okay thanks. The melini's are hanging out with the panda's mostly - they seem scared of my larger peppered and bronze's but I thought that might be a size thing as these melini's are very young and panda cories stay much smaller than peppered/bronze. I'll keep an eye on them and if they do indeed ...

Panda and melini cories
Hi, I have 4 adult panda cories and a baby panda (found hiding among the plants recently) but yesterday I got myself 3 melini cories but on adding to the tank one of the new melini's went straight to an adult female panda and showed signs of inviting spawning. I have tried researching if these two ...

Re: Two different ancistrus?
Hi, I'm new here but know this old spouse from another forum. The two ancistrus here are mine so if there are any questions to help identify them please ask away. I'd like to know if they are the same type given the colour differences and size difference. I'd also like help sexing them if that's ...
