Re: Golden Amazon Catfish ID?

Could this be something along the lines of Megalonema platycephalum ? I was looking through the Cat-eLog and noticed that Megalonema platycephalum looked very similar, at least in regard to the eye, fins and the location of the caudal spot. I think so, someone else suggested same thing to me on ...

Golden Amazon Catfish ID?

I got this labeled as Golden Amazon catfish, but it also resembles a jumper catfish too, any ideas? http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG_7714_zps5c0fc327.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG_7709_zpse01b816b.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG ...

Need ID/Royal Ancistrus?

Bought this sucker from Adam at Tropical Fish and More a while back as Royal Ancistrus. Trying to get positive ID now that I have decent pics... http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG_7660_zps94b595cd.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG_7650_zpscd03b7a4.jpg http ...

coppersafe and catfish?

I need to treat one of my 125s for velvet w/ coppersafe. I have a golden amazon, horseface and granulated catfish in the tank. The bottle doesn't say anything about dangerous for catfish, but I'm still worried. What do you guys think?

Re: Hassar id?

Yes, we are moving to a bigger house soon. I have to move 20 tanks and I will be switching my Geo tanks to sand. I have sand in some of my tanks. I have some of the biggest, RAREST, and healthiest Geos around with or without sand. The manager of my LFS breeds altifrons, red head tapajos, brokopondo ...

Re: Hassar id?

Thanks guys, that why I posted it. The wholesalers were calling it Hassar richter and I knew that was incorrect. Orestis it is. As far as email, is that in reference to updating the My Cats page? I can't check my hotmail from my Droid, but I will try to get around to that on my laptop when I get a ...

Hassar id?

I had these special ordered about a year ago as Hassar richters, but would like a positive id. I took this video, but they NEVER stop moving and its hard to take a good pic.

Re: Tatia intermedia w/ Geos

Hi all, As well as the sand issue, I'd be a little bit worried about keeping either the catfish or Geophagus with Tilapia buttikoferi (near the start on the extreme left and before the Severum appears?) long term. If you were going to set up a breeding tank for the Tatia intermedia , there is an ...

Tatia intermedia w/ Geos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WImbzRnN ... ure=relmfu

Here's a short video of my pair of Tatia intermedia wood cats, out and about on a feeding spree. I believe I have a pair and I'm considering placing them in a separate tank to try and spawn them.

Re: Leptodoras juruenese

I just got it so it is in a quarantine tank for now. Thanks for the info. I plan on getting some more and I will be sure to introduce them to a sand tank once I've treated them. I love this fish, so active and eating frozen brine and pellets.

Leptodoras juruenese

Got this obscure catfish from a vendor in New York. I bought it as another Leptodoras species but found out it was really juruense. Either way I feel lucky to have it. It has 8 whiskers/barbels and is very active.

Re: please help ID, orange lyretail pleco?

Thank you so much, most of the photos look exactly like my 4 beatiful little fish. The LFS had one left, so I'm going to give them a call and see if they can hold it for me. I'm going to order some wood chews and other breeding supplies and see what happens.

please help ID, orange lyretail pleco?

I bought 4 of these at a LFS, because they looked so different. It was listed as a Orange Lyretail Pleco LDA 028, but it doesn't seem to match up and can't find much online. I also got a l288 red tiger pleco, but this specis looks similiar but is definitely ot as red or bright as the red tiger, the ...

Re: Hassar richter??

Hassar are great fish, but need a really big tank as they never stop swimming. 60" x 18" footprint would be a minimum I'd say. They also need to be kept in groups too. :D I just got one. You are right he never stops swimmimg but I also notice my turushuki cat which I special ordered together with ...
