thet will eat anything half there size. there mouths are like vacum cleaners. they should do fine in the pond as long as it is deep

in red lake river in northwest minnesota a 2 year old channel is just about 2 feet but it is is wild in a big river.

they love chicken liver

give him a gradual change in temp and he should do fine, they can take it, i fish for them under 3 feet of ice just give him time to adjust
