Re: Pseudohemiodon apithanos
How new is the new home - just checking this isn't a new tank? I meant in the sense new to them. The tank has been running for about 6 weeks fully set up. I could have put them into an old tank which is two years running, but it has gravel rather than sand, and I was told they like to bury. The ...

Re: Pseudohemiodon apithanos
I have no lighting in the tank as I have a clear roof, so I have partly covered the tank with a towel. I have added some duck weed to half the tank, which if nothing else will help with the nitrate cycle. Tomorrow I will increase the temperature and do a 30% water change and syphon any uneaten food ...

Last night I added a heater and an airstone for extra circulation.. The whips are nearly all just under the surface of the sand, I have tried live bloodworm ( small ) and also added some micro worm in the hope that they will be attracted to the movement. I have seen a little activity but not hugely ...

Re: Breeding Tanks
Well Thanks for the early reply plecomanpat. In general if my fish were 5 or 6 inches and my group consisted of again say 5 or 6 specimens, then would a tank of size 36" x 12" x 12" or 36" x 15" x 15". Would it be better to split a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft so in effect two 3ft x 2ft x 2ft... this would ...

Re: Many Questions on Fish Room !!
Thanks saor alba, That looks pretty solid, so in your middle shelve you have two 4ft tanks? plus the two 405 filters. I have seen this stuff but it always seems to be expensive ( 2 to 300 pounds per 8ft rack? From what you say, I take it you weld the joints when you have it set at the required sizes ...

Thanks Shane and Jools. I am only 5ft 5" and when I worked it out, it looked ok. I would have 9 - 9.5" of gap above the tank for access, is that enough? and Jools... I should have put the 12" at the bottom... Im not sure what you mean by this, why would you want the smallest tanks at the bottom, how ...

Thanks for input guys.. KrazyGeoff Each stand has 5 legs, so just one in the centre at the back. Re: Many Questions on Fish Room !!
Thanks for reply Jvision.
So you would opt for a metal tank over a wood one?
and if I made a frame from metal square tubing, would I still need the central support or could I get away with putting just one in the centre at the back?
Cheers
