You're right, definitely not a Bristlenose. If I were you I would bump up this thread during the weekend when there's more people on this forum that can help you, you're not going to get much people replying now.CoyeMuse wrote:Was sold to me as a common bristlenose, and I KNOW its not that

Re: Some debate on what this plec could be
In my opinion no way does it look like a common pleco. It might be, for all I know, but personally I don't think it is.

Synodontis Lucipinnis - ich
Hi, Unfortunately a couple of my Lucipinnis have got little spots on their fins, and a couple of others seem to be rubbing themselves against the substrate. Definitely ich. However, the question is, what is the most effective way of treating it? I obviosuly don't want to have any losses, and at the ...

Re: Synodontis Lucipinnis tank size
Sorry, more questions
what external filter would you recommend for a 80x35x45cm tank with 6-8 lucipinnis?
OR
should I not bother buying an external and stay with the Fluval U3 Internal?
Thanks

Re: Synodontis Lucipinnis tank size
also i agree with the above comment of it being far too small for cyprinids. I think you meant Cyprichromis. There are many species of cyprinids that will do fine in igol66's tank. 125 litres, 80x35x45 is too small for lucis?? so how come i got two completely different answers. half a dozen OR 0 ...

Would you be able to keep Otocinclus and lucis together? aqadvisor doesnt say anything and recommend the parametres at something like 22-25 degrees celcius, pH of 7.5-7.8 and hardness of 10-15dH. i saw some otos in my lfs and they looked like they could swim really fast so they could escape from ...

Synodontis Lucipinnis tank size
Hi,
I just wandered what the minimum tank size would be for a pair off luci's, and how many could I keep in a 125 liter tank if there are no other fish there? (and probably will remain this way)
Thanks

Synodontis Lucipinnis (aka dwarf petricola) with betta?
Hi, I have 6 lucipinnis, and I would like to add a betta to their tank. Would they get along? I don't see a problem, I had 2 bettas in community tanks in the past and they were peaceful. But the synos get annoyed with him? If the synos are already settled, does that mean any fish that might be added ...

Can I keep a shark with petricolas?
Hi, I wanted to ask if I can keep a shark (never had any experience with them), I was thinking about the red tailed black shark, with a group of petricolas and 2 bn plecs? (of course they're not real petricolas but noone seems to call them by their real name...I still love them :D). If not, why not ...

help? i have no clue
Hi, I need some help. I have recently bred two BN plecos. The fry are currently just under a CM. However, the male is still in the breeding cave and it looks like a long 'marble' is stuck to the top? These 'marbles' seem to be stuck to the top of the cave, and when he moves around in the cave the ...

Lucipinnis diet
Hi,
I am planning to buy a group of lucipinnis and just wanted to ask what exactly should I feed them?
I live in the UK, and brands of food would also be appreciated.
Thanks

Plecos are poop machines, if they poop alot it actually means they are healthy and are getting enough to eatmacvsog23 wrote:I have never cleaned poo from my tanks I use natural setup as I was trying to explain

Re: Gravel or sand for plecos??
This question is best answered by the fish. Many fish have sound reasons why they would prefer one form of substrate over another. Some fish need to burry in a soft sand due to several reasons , some use this burrowing to await prey some to hide during daylight ,and some just find it easyer to feed ...

Gravel or sand for plecos??
I wanted to ask whats better for plecos?? sand or gravel?
I know they like to play in the sand and thats why I really would prefer it but what about cleaning all their poops from it? Is it hard to clean so much poop from sand?
Would it be easier to clean the poop from the gravel?
Thanks.
