Re: Marc's fish room build
Quick thought. Have you considered placing the tote higher off the ground? In an ideal situation close to the ceiling is best because of gravity assist and the room air will also heat the tote over time. From experience using the port on the front side of the tote works better. Can easily swap out ...

It’s at the bottom of the pecking order. Was being chased out of tank. Only place left is place of shame, out in the open. It’s not lazy it’s afraid to move.
At the very least totally rearrange the landscaping and hiding places. Give it a chance.

Cydone,
You are thinking in the right direction. Just be sure to test the water before it goes into the tank until you are confident it works.

The pumps have an over pressure bypass built-in allowing the pumps to run continuously instead of quickly cycling off/onbut they still sound rough. The problem is the diameter of the tubing that comes with the RO ...

Using RO Water Shane’s post is so last century I thought I’d give a more modern description of using RO Water. My fish room at its peak had over 2500 gallons of water in aquariums and filter systems. Hi, Daniel is right on the mark. Mouth deformities typically affect growth in two ways. The first is the mouth doesn’t function properly so they can’t chew or grind hard foods. The other is the throat is too small or partially blocked and they can’t eat enough. Snub noses are not genetic issues but w ...

ClayT101, Your first photo is not a true p. leopardus (l600 trade name) but a variant more commonly called an lda07 from the Rio Takutu. The pectoral and pelvic fins don't have the L600 pattern. Re: L114 Color Morphs
The label L600 is a P. leopardus. It is not a true L number but a trade name that stuck because everyone other than the pros find it easier to speak in numbers. To be honest it is easier to type. That is why I started saying pseudas instead of Pseudacanthicus. There are plenty of other genus that ...

I have a strain that stays at that temp or hotter all the time. Others don't last a week. Perhaps I have bred so many at high temperatures it no longer bothers. Problem is they look the same as those that don't. Not quite the answer your look for but it's an honest one.

When they are under 4" tetra bits and algae wafers are ok 1-2 times a week. Once bigger they will ignore them unless starving.
Feed too much they get fat.

In general all Pseudacanthicus fry are sensitive until the are over 2". I prefer to sell larger an 2.25". Doesn't sound like much until you know that that takes several months. At the size you are asking about why will add to their new environment in 1-2 days or they will be dead, usually during the ...

The best time to get them is when the eggs have tails and mouths. The male will start to get irritated trying to keep them in. This is usually 7-9 days after spawn. They are very hardy at this point and easy to move. The longer one waits to collect the greater the risk of damage. Here is one way to ...

Just read my last post again which proves the point that my answer is not that great. Mules cannot reproduce on their own so they are not sustainable. I didn't think you would go for the simple answer :d I'll tell you what I do know and then let the experts weigh in. A real world example of a hybrid would be a mule. It is a cross between a male donkey and a female horse. They have different numbers of chromosomes and therefore substantially ...

You are correct toaddback salt and such to make up for the replaced water. You might consider doing only one water change a day and then scaling it back after that. Some of the medications are added every day to gradually increase the strength in the tank instead of shocking them all at once. Heavy ...

Yes. All three can be used together. My apologies on the salt. Aquarium salt would be fine also. Most people over my way find buying 'generic' is cheaper. Just watch out for excessive foaming when adding both the pimifix and the stress zyme. That's the only potential problem I see.

Here is the pic of the pleco that I treated with pimifix in a 300 gal tank. Not the preferred way but I didn't have a spare tank for a 10" fish
