Re: Rineloricaria lanceolata breeding
Well on the night of day 9 the eggs turned white and opaque. I was soooo looking forward to day 10 as well. The embryos must have died for some reason, and I'm thinking that they might be light sensitive. I could see the little things in their eggs all dead  and all. Next time ill plunge ...

Re: Ehiem Jager Heaters.
Not sure if your problem has been solved or not, but you can recalibrate the heater if you need to. You just put the heater in a bucket or a smaller tank, and wait for the temp probe light to go off. Make sure the water is evenly heated and has water flow, or you'll get thermal layering. Then take a ...

Re: My Planted Tank
I just use a simple gravel substrate with pebbles as well. Helps the plants dig in well whilst having no impacting problems. :D I only just added the CO2 and its effects have still to be seen properly. The swords have some JBL balls in the substrate, so that helps some of the plants. I don't do ...

Re: Albino BN and ancistrus temminckii albino
yeah, I thought they were normal everyday albino bn's. they are so pretty though! Ill feed them up and see if the colour changes, and if it doesn't then I'd be happy to put it down to selective breeding for the whitish colour.

Re: Albino BN and ancistrus temminckii albino
yes. just like those pics. I have the normal albinos that have this lovely rich colour to them, and the new ones (3f, 1m) are really pale. Very pretty fish, but very pale in comparison. http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp114/phoenix44/DSC06890Small.jpg http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp114 ...

Albino BN and ancistrus temminckii albino
I just bought 4 ancistrus temminckii "albino". Apart from the colour difference that is visible, with the ancistrus temminckii being pale and almost white looking (like its seen a ghost ); what is the difference between the two fish?

Ancistrus sp. `Rio Ucayali` - Another ID please
Hey guys, Sorry for asking for a seemingly related ID again, but I got 6 of these today. The supplier sells them as white spotted bristlenoses, (an.docichopterus). Based on what someone else has bought, and you guys have ID'd they are - Ancistrus sp. `Rio Ucayali`. Does the same apply to these guys ...

Bristlenose ID
Hey guys, A friend of mine bought this as a normal BN. They definitely are not. Which brings me to question what they are. We do have "starlights" here in NZ, but I somehow doubt they would just pop up and sell as normal bristlenoses! http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp114/phoenix44 ...

Based on first hand experience, I would say these are L140 as well.
All the list says is big band tiger Pleco (L288) which it is not. kinda funny that the one time they ever use L numbers, they get it wrong
