whenever ive set up new tanks, i use a few giant danios to produce waste (brachdanio aequipinnatus spelling?), these fish have spawn many MANY times so i basically use them as feeders or cyclers or you can use any hardy cheap fish...My experience has been after there is an initial bioload the water ...
