I have been using PVC tubes in my river tank for a long time, and my cats and loaches love them. To make it look more natural, buy some clear aquarium silicone. Cover the outside of the tube with it, and roll the tube carefully in some of the same gravel or sand as you have in your tank. Let it dry ...

Hi Erwin, It was indeed p. maccus that this fellow came in with. They were all very small when they arrived, and at that time looked very much the same. This guy quickly outgrew the little clowns. Unfortunately I don't own a copy of Aqualog to see the pic you are refering to. Looking at the l226 ...

Panaque SP?
Hey folks, sorry to say I haven't been around these parts much lately. Been moving around a lot, and am finally getting my life back in order. That being said, Today I picked up this little beauty, and I'm in need of some assistance. I'm almost certain I'm dealing with a panaque of some sort. The ...

I know of no way to sex them until they actually start developing thier bristles. Males have them, females don't :) (femails do have little nubbs when they are fully maure) I bought 2 from a batch of babies, and a friend bought 3 from the same batch, all turned out to be male...it's tough. However ...

Yes, clown loache are a botia, aka Botia macracanthus . However I would maybe reconsider putting them in your tank. They (as is the case with most fish) don't grow just to the size of the tank. They will grow until they reach thier max size, or until the die from innadiquite conditions resulting ...

Your most immediate concern will be to get that cichlid out of there. I don't know how large it is, or exactly what kind you've got, but for the most part they are too agressive to keep with the majority of what's in your tank. They really should be kept in a tank dedicated to thier own kind. That ...

Your best option would be a pair of
Otocinclus
Fantastic little algae eaters! You may find that once they have cleaned your tank up, you will want to feed them algae wafers or pellets.

As Silurus suggested, the Cat-eLog is your best bet. There are many different whiptails out there, some of which are really tough to ID. I have 2 that were both sold as "common whiptail" but niether anre anything alike. Here are some pics of one of mine. http://www.corydorasworld.com/planetcatfish ...

Jools, if you are going for more of a mousover effect, rather than click to drop menues, my biggest suggestion would be to go with DHTML rather that using a java applet. Applets are nice in that they don't take a lot of code to ref. to, but they are much slower to load. Have a look into Hiarchial ...

Microglanis Iheringi Size (South American Bumblebee Catfish)
Hey folks, I have had a pair of Microglanis iheringi (South American Bumblebee Catfish) for some time. Some time ago I was taking some nice detailed pics of them, and noticed something rather striking. On the Cat-dLog, they are listed as being 2.2". In the below pics, see that mine have easily ...

Oh my, to me this tank is WAY over stocked, espeicially concidering the messy nature of some of your fish. If I were you, I would lean towards setting up a second tank, maybe one for your plecos, and one for your other fellows. If you are looking for a bottom feeder to accompany your gold fish, you ...
