L204 New Home - Warning!! NOT 56k Friendly!!!

Post by fishthoughts »

As some of you saw I was doing a river tank setup for some L204 that I have. Well, the tank is done except for the powerheads arent here yet, but that will be soon... I got some nice pics of the tank setup with the plecos in it and a few cichlids that we didnt have room for in the hatchery

HERE GOES!
Here's one of the Males

And their home...

is a 40 long, 1/2" PVC under the sand with 2 filter intakes on one side and 2 powerhead outlets on the other. The powerheads will be Aquaclear 900's, I think they run 160 GPH. THat will provide for plenty of flow. I have a 80GPH powerhead in tehre now just for sake of having a working one :) Hope you all liked it!

they're actually about 3.0-3.5" in size... for some reason i thought they were bigger, but now that they're in a 40 im going to start feeding them rather well and hopefully they'll grow... A friend of mine said that his are breeding and they are only 4"... so who knows :)

Okay just installed the TWO MaxiJet 1200 powerheads... I think its a bit overkill, I mean, they both move 295 USGPH!!! Thats about 600 GPH thats moving... the flow is amazing but the plecos seem to be loving it!! ILl wait until morning when the tank calms a bit and take some more photos.

Breeding them?

Post by Sinatra »

G'day Fishthoughts

Do you have any information on how your friend was breeding the L204's?

Water Parameters, temp, food, caves, you know all of the usual stuff....

Thanks very much for any info you can provide! :D
