Live food?

Post by allis64 »

What is a good live food for corys and other bottom feeders? Where would I get such a thing? What kinds of foods will help them grow and be healthy?

Black worms, available at most LFS's is a good live food for corys. Black worms really put size on the fish. If Black worms are not available to you chopped up earth worms are fine. Corys love live baby brine as well.

Thank you! We don't have many LFS' with live food here, but I will look for them. What exactly are blackworms anyway?

They are freshwater oligochaete worms (Lumbriculus variegatus). There is a good resource here.
