Corydoras schwartzi Info

Post by mchernecki »

Hi,

I decided to add a group corys to my 90 Gal and found some Corydoras schwartzi. I have wheat colored fine sand and these guys love it and look spectacular. I have 3 at the moment, but want to go back to the LFS tomorrow to get more. What is a good number to get for a 90 Gal? Is there a minimum number to make a happy little group? How many should I get to experience the cory group behavior? I want these guys to be a centerpiece for the bottom of the tank.

Thanks
Mike

If you want the C. schwartzi to be the centerpiece of the bottom of your 90g tank, a dozen would be fine.

Even a few more than that would look great, but my favorite part about Schwartz' is that they don't always stay on the bottom. I can catch mine doing the same thing as in the E-log pretty often, even individually.

But I agree, definately get at least dozen since they're not expensive anyway...enjoy-

I went back to the LFS today and all they had left was 6 :( . I now have a total of 9 and they look great together. I will keep an eye out for more when they come in or check around town for more. I have to say, these guys just love the very fine sand. I have always kept a couple cories in my other tanks, but with the larger gravel, they just sat there ... boring.

Thanks
