This picture just really showed how truly spiny he can look, hehe. Usually he hides his head, like that makes him invisible in there. As long as he can't see me, I can't see him I guess

Yeap a really nice guy!!!!!
I have also noticed that with my Loricariidae, the just stick their head at the entry of the cave, with the rest of the body out. Male and female have this behavior.
Maybe it is related to the fact that in the cave there is not much ( or barely not) current, so for them to get some extre oxygen and instead of fanning like hell, they jsut stay in the front.
This way there are also able to dart inside the cave in case of potential danger!

He's a pretty boy barbie, hasn't gotten the totally broken pattern that mine had before I shipped to TTA. and yeah, hypancistrus seem to get massive odontles, wish I could get a good one of my big male zebra, but he's a hider more than any other fish I have.

Of course he's still a queen, which I guess could be the reason I've not had fry yet, now that I think about it!

It's an Olympus C4040 zoom. Actually the same camera that MoJo gets such awesome pictures with, I'm just not quite up to his level of expertise with it, yet

It has 3x optical zoom, and 2.5 digital, which I rarely use.

I used to get some excellent shots with our old, cheaper, model of Olympus though, also. Their macro setting, seems to allow for a great focal length in the shots, as long as you're working with enough light over the tank. I've been working on a collection of pictures for our photo gallery at Fishaholics. I have upwards of 200 to add at this point. Now comes the work of actually adding them, hehe.
