This is really neat. Has it been bred in captivity before?

Keep the photos coming! :-)

Cheers, Eric

They have been spawned before yes but mostly overseas. Mike Drawdy of Imperial Tropicals has also spawned this fish at his facility in Florida.

Thanks!

WOOHOO...! That looks awesome...!

Could give us an insight on your "method"? Waterparameters and what triggered them?

These fish look so awesome...!

The group is in a semi-planted 50 gallon unheated, softwater tank. I haven't measured the pH but I use half R/O water and our tap water runs around 7.4 with a hardness of 180-220ppm. I'm not sure of possible triggers other than frequent water changes. They act very much like a Corydoras in that temperature changes can trigger spawning. Hope that helps.

OMG!! Those fish are great! Love the color on them. I would love to get my hands on some, but they are hardly ever offered overhere.

I have 2 Hisonotus Leucofrenatus. 1 of them seems to have a bigger belly...

Would be great if they spawn...!

Do you feed them anything special?
