Unidentified aspidoras
These are my dad's fish. He has four of these, and we're not sure what kind of aspidoras they are. Any ideas?

Re: Unidentified aspidoras
Several people on the CorydorasWorld and US Corydoras Keepers Facebook pages have been discussing the fact that very many of the Aspidoras sold in the USA (except ) are hybrids because of poor sorting of similar-appearing species by importers, wholesalers, retailers and even hobbyists, who then sell the offspring back to retailers, who unwittingly resell them as valid species. I can't attest to the validity of this concern or how widespread the problem is, but I know that some serious Cory hobbyists won't buy Aspidoras in the USA unless they are coming from known, trusted importers.
That's not particularly helpful info, but I present it to suggest that your dad's fish might also be hybrids. ID'ing most Aspidoras can be difficult.
Do you know where/when your dad bought them?
Cheers, Eric

Yeah that could be possible. He bought them from Josh at Batfish Aquatics almost a year ago.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention but they were listed as Aspidoras. sp 'Senger' or 'Sanger' can't remember which.

Re: Unidentified aspidoras
Aspidoras sp. 'Senger' is in fact also known as Aspidoras sp. C118. For more info on your fish, read this link: http://bdweb313932.bluedomino.com/artic ... enger.html
As usual, Silurus nailed it.
