what should i (not) do?

Post by christian »

Hey planetcatfish!

My L97 male trapped the female since a little longer than 3 days in his cave without leaving.
is it normal that it takes the l97 so Long to spawn?

should i give it more time or is there anything i can do to stimulate them?

the last and only time the l97 spawned faster, but the male was inexperienced and very nervous and kicked some eggs out of the cave and ate the rest of the batch.

the last waterchange was done 2 weeks ago and it would be time for it again, but i dont want to disturb the pair in such a sensitive situation.

any ideas how long i should wait until they spawn?

update:

finally after exactly 4 days of being stuck inside the cave the female l97 spawned!
the male is very nervous again and the swimming stingrays in front of the cave dont make the situation better.

hopefully the eggs are fertilized and the male can take care for longer than 4 days this time ^^

Congratulations!! Keep us updated as to progress. Pseudacanthicus spawns are not the easiest for sure!

hey,
seems like something went absoultly wrong.
either the l97 male ate the eggs or the eggs got kicked out and the stingrays ate them.

the female l97 is pretty thin again and no eggs have been found :(

hopefully the l97 and me get another chance in 3-4 month!
