Feeding shrimp to L014 & L253

Post by BazzNL »

Hi, maybe a silly question...

I want to add some frozen shrimp to the diet of my L014 and L253. We have a good brand of frozen fish food here in the Netherlands (no added preservatives and stuff). They offer boiled and raw shrimps, both of them whole.

My two questions:
- Which is better? raw or cooked shrimps?
- Do I need to peel them before feeding...... 8-} ?

The fish are 20 cm, the shrimp will be 2-4 cm.

Thanks in advance for sharing your tips.

cooking takes a lot of the nutrients out of the shrimp, so I would do raw. Idk if you need to peel or not

Hey Bas

Feed them raw. Also because usually they cook them with salt or other addition.
I always feed my plecos with peeled shrimps. I guess they could easily peel them theirself, but I could imagine they won't eat it and that makes a bigger mess in the tank.
